  • Oops. Didn't mean to post.

  • What, you mean you actually had to read the documentation to learn how something works?

    No way!

Sometimes I'll work on construct at school on a computer that has no internet connection. If I didn't previously know what formats how the hell would I know what I needed?

I can't see why it would be so hard to put the info where the arrow above points out.

  • The multiscrolling version is quite choppy for me. Only 10 fps. The first one however is fine.

Also, seeing as how I've already gone through making starfields and got quite annoyed with it, I'm going to let you know that you're probably going to hit a wall with this current method.

Larger layouts = more stars which takes a long time to create on startup and more resources used in general.

    Edit:

This is what I came up with (with some help from the guys in chat). It's not pretty because I was just working on the theory of it, nor does it have multiple scroll layers though they should be fairly easy to add.

Eventually I just gave up with it and opted for a scrolling background.

  • Wow. That is impressive. I do hope you'll write a tutorial someday.

What is this? I've seen the term used before, but I have absolutely no clue what it means

I'm probably really stupid for not knowing, huh?

No. Just something you probably never found a use for. The layout object (which allows layouts to be show in other layouts (

yo dawg we put a layout in your layout so you can view layouts while you view layouts!

    )).

The layout object has a few modes. One of them is modal.

    Edit:

    ARRGGH beaten to the punch.

  • Why not just use a drop box?

  • > So I added "" to indicate that it was a string, so as to reference the point by name.

    >

That seems like a backwards and undocumented way of doing it... Can't you just use str()?

  • I don't think it had a snap-to-other-objects

Can't you just use the grid with the snap-to feature enabled?

  • Does this also seem to effect where the mouse can click on sprites/buttons?

  • Hey. That wouldn't be fair. I'm a constant lurker. I just don't like posting often. But I'm always here.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I think that you probably ordered your events wrong. I also think that to receive help you're going to need to post that cap file.

  • Wow, that is so much nicer than adding the parameters in the previous events. Nice!

  • Try removing the transparency check from the layer that you're doing this on in layer properties. (I think that's how you do it) alternatively look at the Lighting Effects tutorial in the Tutorial section.

  • Oh. I get it.

    Thanks.
