  • Good evening everybody,

I like to introduce my latest Construct-Project:

          NEON BREAKOUT (Beta)

          Link to the Demo-Version

It is a simple Breakout-Clone in early beta-state - I Hope some of you like it...

Please give me feedback about performance, playability, look & feel or what ever you think!

Thank you in advance for testing...

    Stefan

  • ToDoList:

    1. Highscores

    2. More Levels

    3. Less Extra Balls

    4. More Bonus Items (Laser etc.)

    5. Different Particle Effects for every Level (or by Random)

    6. Fade Screen and Wait between each Level

    7. Solid Blocks for complexer Levels

    8. Level-Selection (when accomplished)

  • Game seems a little blurry but fun to play! well done :) Maybe you should add some neon particles when the ball hits the block.

  • Thx for testing,

the "blurry"-look should make you think of 80s, thats a little retro-style... but the particle-thing is a good idea.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Simple enough. I played and got some strange glitches: sometimes the ball went past the paddle (prevalent when the ball was near the walls or was at a very low angle) and the ball sometimes went at strange angles after hitting the blocks.

  • Hi Stefan.

Nice work. Very smooth gameplay, all of the powerups are cool. You have done a lot of things right. Very fun using multi-ball.

Using the mouse was ok but personally i prefer to use the arrow keys for a game like this.

There was a little bit of glitchy movement but im sure you'll iron that out in time.

I think you should probably speed up the default ball speed - having the option to slow down/speed up with powerups are great but unless you have multiball they can pop a bit slow on later stages which in turn made the gameplay slow (slow speed also makes it very easy).

Oh and P.S it was VERY 80's! I know the title screen says left click mouse but all i was seeing was "INSERT COIN" :)

  • Thx for testing so far...

I figured out some problems with the glitchy movement, the collision polygone was not a sqare at the blocks and the walls. So it will be terminated in the next version.

And GenkiGenga: I will pick up that INSERT COIN thing - very good idea!

See you after the weekend with an improved version...

  • Probably the best 2D version of Breakout I have played. Great job. However, Sometimes I would move the mouse, but the paddle would not move and the mouse goes outside the game area.

Btw, I dodge the speed down power-ups on purpose because they make the game too easy.

  • Reaaly GOod Job.

    Played xxx times!

    Waiting a full release!! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Thx for testing...

  • Very nice game , loved it. :D

Best of Luck for the game, I will be keeping eye on the game. :)

Did you used physics or just the simple bullet for the ball and paddle, was quite curious about this. :D

    Thanks in advanced.

    Bye bye take care.
