  • I guess it relies heavily on hardware acceleration, since my gaming laptop has absolutely zero issues with it, in browser AND on desktop. <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Sully what FPS you getting? I'd be interested to know computer specs if people are getting low framerate. I'm getting 60 FPS, but my computer is only a year old.

  • Solid 60 FPS in both versions when my laptop's plugged in, in power-saving mode it's 60 in the browser and 45-ish on desktop.

Let's see if I can remember my specs:

    Intel i7 2630QM

    NVIDIA Geforce GTX 560m (2GB)

    8GB RAM

and it's an Asus G74SX is you were curious, also a year old.

  • 20 to 22 FPS With Chrome browser.

5 to 7 FPS with Awesomium exe.

My graphics drivers are up-to-date. The last time my graphics drivers vender released an update was 11/21/2009. lol

My computer is almost 3 years old.

    Dell Inspiron 1545

Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

    4GB RAM

    I need a new computer :(

  • Try Construct 3

My computer isn't that old and I get pretty much yer same fps. I bought it this year and the last update for my card was on April. I can run any games without any problems. Even emulate the Wii with no problems. It should handle a simple demo no problem.

    Intel Core i3 370M

    Intel HD Graphics

    8GB RAM

    Win 7 Ultimate

  • Intel's graphcis aren't great, but they've been getting gradually better ? I'm suprised that 2 year old laptop i3 isn't performing that well.

I wish it was more common for people to have AMD/Nvidia graphic cards though.

Me too, specially since this is only 2D and a simple demo. Like I said before, I play games like Super Mario Galaxy 2 at 50 - 60 fps...

  • I don't get why Chrome browser is better than Awesomium

  • I don't get why Chrome browser is better than Awesomium

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Scirra said that Awesomium was gonna have better performance than browsers. Let's hope these are just issues of the early days.

  • Jesus, sounds like most here can pull better framerates with Doom3 than they can with this 2D demo (I know there's a big technical difference). Just placing it into perspective...

  • Yeah, I don't think It's my pc specs. Was playing Skyrim on Ultra before testing out the demo. AMD graphics card if that helps.

  • I get a solid 60fps

    Intel Core i7

    8 gigs ram

    ASUS

  • Seems like all i7s get a 60 fps...

  • Intel Core i3

    8 gigs ram

    win 7 64

    Geforce 570

    and 60fps all the way

  • I've mentioned this before, but just to repeat - there is a known performance issue with Awesomium, and I'm trying to get them to fix it. However the Awesomium team have a lot of other priorities so I'm not sure when they'll get round to it.

If the performance issue is resolved, Awesomium should *always* be faster than the Chrome browser. However due to the performance problem some machines (usually lower-end or older computers) end up slower than the Chrome browser. Again, we know why this is and what needs to be done, so hopefully it can be fixed soon.
