The I18N (Translation) is a Construct plugin created to translate text in game.
  • Wow I'm dumb, sorry! I was using the SOL: Pick All Instances action instead! My fault. Your plugin is amazing, thank you so much!

  • Can I make something like this http://www.scirra.com/forum/append-recognizable-by-system-text_topic72752.html with this plugin?

  • RexRainbow, does this work with tiled backgrounds? Trying to pick and create a tiled background object and having trouble with standard methods (and I assume Nickname is sprites only). Wondering if it's possible to extend functionality to sprites? <3

You should not remove all tile background instances from layout editor. Leave one tile background instance and it will work fine.

Hi. I just have no idea what's going on.

    Thanks.

False alarm. I have updated my C2 and bug has disappeared.

  • I have made a small modification to your example to emphasise the point I want to make.

The concern is that the Family: rotate 45 degrees event, can now have two separate outcomes, depending on the context where they are used. This introduces an ambiguity into Construct 2 which I would have thought is not good. The first use of the event, rotates just the instance created. The last use rotates the entire family.

It seems that you modify the select instance of a Family to achieve this? How long does this last, until the end of the event block? Perhaps a better implimentation would be to have an Nickname : SOL : Pick last instance?

Hope there are no misunderstandings of how plugins work in the above. Really love the plugin and will continue playing with it. Thank you.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Excellent! Just what I needed.

Yes, I modified the SOL of the family if user used the action which had family parameter. You could use the other one action which did not have the family parameter. However, it would not pick the created instance.

The solution was, user might use "condition:on create" to do something after creating instance.

  • I love this plugin. The real awesomeness of this comes from the ability to create multiple instances in one event, if you could do the same for deleting that would be incredible.

    Destroy "Nickname" at (x,y)

    Destroy "Nickname"

You might put all possible types into a family, then use "condition:pick by UID" to pick the deleted target (put into this family), then destroyed it.

i wonder if its possible to initiate all object nicknames by a loop,

i tried some things, but didn't work

lets say you have all your objects on a layout, and you put them in .x order the way you like, then you do a sort by family.x and set the nickname to "obj" & loopindex

its great as it is, but would make a great addition, if its not already possible

  • I've had this plugin/behaviour sitting in my C2 directory and never thought to actually try and use it, but I've given it a shot, and by god it's EXTREMELY useful! Thank you for making this beast of a plugin!

  • vtrix

You might use nickname behavior to assign nickname(string) at properties table. It might be more clearly.

  • rexrainbow, yes im using it, its great!, my suggestion would only be usefull if you got like 30+ objects you could generate something like obj25, but i agree its better that you tag it.

  • If I were to make the most tiniest of tiny suggestions (it's really not insanely important but would be nice), is if there were an "Does Nickname exist?" event. I'd use it if it were there :P Again though, awesome plugin! Thank you!
