  • I thought I was the only one! I just uploaded my first game a few minutes ago, and it can't seem to load! I even tried to check out the other games and I get the same error message.

Maybe you're right, and it's due to their servers (with the new announcemnt of C3) being worked on. I hope they fix this soon.

Forum has went offline and on several times as well. I would think the forum mods would let us know what is happening.

  • Hopefully they are working on them and it's not DDOS attacks or someone upset with C3 stuff. Which does bring up the point, if there were server attacks would no one be able to access their game/assets from the cloud service. I suppose they will have built in local storage redundancy. This probably isn't the right area to discuss it in though. Anyways, thanks for the info. I was just about to PM you to say your driving game was down lol.

All games are down right now.

If it was DDOS I don't think forum would be working.

Scirra arcade had been running slow for awhile and throwing errors so I think they are transferring to a new server but sure would have been nice if they had given us a warning or heads up.

  • The last few days the Scirra website has been off line sporadically and now games in arcade throwing a 404 error file not found?

Hopefully this is a result of Scirra working on servers and just a temporary issue but some kind of update or word from Scirra as to what is happening would be appreciated.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I think Scirra is working on their servers. Been offline several times the last few days and now no games in the arcade are showing up. Hopefully it is a short term thing.

  • Yes I remember some similar probs in an earlier release.

It seems to be connected to using any programs that run using the shared clipboard running at the same time and may be a windows conflict.

I have had probs with just getting the files to show up in windows 10 and the more they try to improve it the more they screw it up.

  • Thank you very much for your very well done game.

Right on T Games and glad you enjoyed the game!

  • I'm having a variant of this issue-- my whole system isn't going down, but trying to preview an animation results in the screen greying out, as it usually does, only the preview box doesn't appear. I'm guessing this is a different effect of the same issue, as it seems to occur under similar circumstances.

I'm using Windows 8, with the 64 bit version of the 239 update of Construct 2.

Sounds like a similar issue. Since that crashed happened I am seeing other probs. Effects not working or not showing when I run on one computer and then they run on a different computer.

    Very strange?

  • Use a Global variable and call it PLAYERANGLE

When you move the player set that Global variable to a different number. 1=moving left etc.

Then use ON KEY RELEASED and PLAYERANGLE=1 set Player Animation to "Left"

And so on for each angle.

  • You can set a Global variable and use that to change damage variables.

Every time you change to a different enemy sprite animation change that variable and use it to determine changes to damage.

  • Go to the Board Index and you will see the board topics. Click on the topic that best suits what you are asking about and then click new topic and put in your headline and question.

The "How Do I...." topic is for questions about doing stuff with C2.

Hope that helps and welcome to the forum.

  • Sounds like you have collision boxes different in different animations so when your player changes to a different animation the collision box overlaps the platform and sticks the player.

Try making all the animation collisions the same and that should fix the problem.

For a player that is running and jumping I use a small collision box and set the bottom at the feet so they will always land on the platform ready to run.

Also check the collision boxes on your platforms for same problem.

  • You can't make money using the free version to create games and I highly recommend you get a license if you intend to sell games and have some good games but I think you can create game templates using the free version and sell those in the Scirra store.

Someone correct me if I am wrong please?
