    Jokes aside, that problem could have huge range of causes and from single post and without testing, it would be impossible to know the reason. Sending it to repairs and thinking they fix it, won't really happen, aside you dad loosing money ;) You better off googling the cause and tring to fix it yourself. If that repair company has to do it, they bill you more then your laptop is worth. If your laptop is under warranty you could and should it.

  • Years back, first game i started to make, instantly needed ray casting and there was and is literally no alternatives with official plugins.

    I should update that idea tracker with examples, so people that does not know why it is needed would also vote for it.

    Other awsome idea is polygon plugin, that seems to be very unpopular for unknown reasons :/

    That seems nice, phone i tried had older android, so it wasn't on auto update. I don't have android 5/6 phone to test, but i hope update does not need user interaction at some point - which could nullify the auto-update idea.

  • I think C3 needs to redo that "System update needed" page. 40% is to large, i bet some cheap no-name phones with android 5/6 are still being sold.

    If you take it from app sell/adds perspective, some points:

    * major clickers are kids. I bet alot of them use old parents phones(cheap ones), so 40% could easily grow 80%+. Some might update webview so you could subtract ~ few %.

    * Alot of expensive ones(top end) are bought by people that most likely will not click/play games. Its overall % phones sold. That push unusables % even higher.

    * Problems with Having Current error page: it is to confusing, + its in english, its to long and kids can't read it(in some counthries even older users can't read it). Good fix would be -> System update needed > Line 2 Update system webview and link to android app store. My cousin that's 8 year old, already knows what update means and if there is link, he most likely would click and do it, even if he can't read the rest.

    *It takes few years! for % to go as low 20% what would be good enough. Or even longer, as it takes years before batteries die for phones from 2013-2016.

    To OP, just use c2runtime for apps that are simple. If you already developing large game, then just set min android to 7.

    You should also consider who you target with app and then choose runtime you need.

  • I tried your example, works like it should. Only its bugs when players starts to push box over other, you should disable platform behavior on box that fell into hole, so player can't push 2 box same time and get stuck, because box in hole can't move.

  • Just use force! if box is above hole and should fall into hole, but doesn't, then just put it there. If you want box fall/go into hole by itself, it could disagree and get stuck behaind some pixel.

    If you can't kick box over the holes, then you could just check if box x is Equal or bigger then hole x and then box it into hole.

    Ye thats what iam talking about, dam we are limited with 60 fps in 2018, should be 600 at least. Multi-trillion companys and we can't use bullet behavior with 500 speed, what a crazy world.

    And then you watch TV and what you see, 30fps. So they fake it by not moving camera fast, instead holding it on same spot and zoom in and out. Same thing in youtube.

    And now we have to wait like at least 50 year to get smoother picture quality, were is justice! I don't have 50 year. So we have to take it on streets, all deviced at least 600 fps, same for videos for basic human eye right.

  • Did some test, this test does not show why some device janks or lag, while project has good peformance, but overall look when fps can change something different then 60, under load.

    So when dt jumps between 0.01666 and 0.03333 very fast it will cause this super bad lag, when sprite jumps back and forth.

    Use example and pressure fps to around 50.

    You can pressure CPU or GPU there. Or stop logic to see some last steps distances.

    Line 2 ball uses just self.x -3 while others use bullet behavior, which have dt i think.

    Anyway, if you don't like janks or some sprite lag, don't use dt in sprite logic that is moved with small increments each tick, or least don't use bullet behavior.

  • Sizcoz, show me the jank (: Can you record video with that i7, also with worker mode.

  • You could have 0 event and still make it shutter. Building for phones, you have to least read all construct 2/3 manual and tutorial + follow thous best practices. Construct does have weakness - its super simple to make mistakes.

    And yes that project could easily have jankiness and shutter, if you don't remake it.
