  • IS there perhaps a way to create justified text?

    I.e Both margins are aligned?

    The Character wrapping is not exactly working for this.

    Am I just missing the option somewhere?

    It would really be useful for me to be able to align the text in a neater way when I have a mission briefing in my game or basically anywhere where there is more text.

  • You guys are making me nervous.

    My projects are still small and consists of not too many things happening on screen at the same time. This is increasing though and I can see that within my next project or two I'll be expanding my scope.

    Now..I would hate to keep on learning and getting more and more reliant on certain practices and then hit performance barriers.

    So far so good though, but as I said - nothing complicated with my projects. Although some biggish images that I don't know what the best way to optimize is really...but at the moment it's doing fine with performance.

    Ashley How confident are you that we will see performance increases with the C3 runtime? - just out of interest if we can indeed expect a bit of a bump.

  • Flashes like a machine gun on my semi older machine, which you can assume is at least half the market on desktop.

    Another reason you should be designing for low end rather than high end.

    Flashes once or twice on my 2012 MacBook Pro, then also flashes like a Machine gun when Maximizing.

    Geforce 650M GPU.

    Anyway, I think the current state of Construct 2 is more of a Construct 2.5 (2.3?) The real Construct 3 will be happening when the new C3 runtime is out imho. Then people will start making plugins again and really get on board from C2. C2 is still by far the more dominant Construct build. Frankly if it was native Mac i'd be using it instead as well.

    Either way, I use Unity with Playmaker and if I want to use a specific genre there is usually some sort of Asset that does it.

    I still love Construct though and i'm sticking around - for now at least - building smaller things that Unity will be complete overkill for. I have GMS2 but the new interface is a step back imho. I really hate working in it.

    I will try out GoDot soon again since I didn't look at it since they were discussing the Graphical Coding.

    Construct to me is the fun one though <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

    I do wish however that Ashley and co can hurry op with the Construct 3 new runtime so we can get on with it, esp since it was eluded to that there will be some significant gains.

    I'm still learning Construct, but I would still call myself an advanced amateur. But the better I get with Construct, the more I realize that I have a big deficit when it comes to pixel art / graphics. Your games look really awesome and my question is:

    Do you work in a task-sharing team or are you an all-rounder? How much time does it take, to create such graphics?

    I'd say practice.

    Take examples from a style you like and practice creating something similar.

    It also depends what look you are going for.

    Some find pixel art more difficult to do than vector art, others use normal raster graphics from photoshop etc.

  • It might be in the community and or Ashley and Tom 's best interest to perhaps get R0J0hound and rexrainbow and maybe 1 or 2 others a Construct 3 licence.

  • I made a goal to finish a game in a month. I started this one the beginning of November- pretty much there, few bits to finish but I am hoping to get it all done in a week

    Its a pretty simple "idle" style clicker game where you upgrade your office until you have the biggest office in the city-

    This looks quite interesting and you have great clean art there!

  • Anyone else have an issue when clicking on Preview in the properties after adding a particle effect to the layout?

    I get that the layout basically makes all the other sprites and objects disappear. I can't then bring it back either by unchecking preview.
