• Ashley's statement on that was quite simple, can't find that post now but he said he will not add this feature because it can be hard for "new users" to understand/use.

• So shinkan recently challanged me in other thread as below and pointed to this thread:

It looks that I made it . Here's a video of the first (working) test

As you can see it works nicely. I just need add some more ACEs, ico and I'll release it. I think it should be available within few days.

If anyone would like to discuss some details/ACEs/whatever in regards of this plugin, I'm available on my discord server (see footer).

Haha. Nice!

• I do believe the price tag for that plugin wasn't just set to get rich fast, but rather for the proper content of the plugin:)

as of the object unloading, I'll just give you the link, will be faster that way.

wow, just realize that post is 3 years old...

Like always Ashley first misunderstood the question (like most people who post there) and then totally ignored it, but there are few good posts on later pages made by people who actually knows what they doing heh

• I'm not saying the plugin is but or whatever... Plugins are made to make things faster and easier indeed.

All I meant is that I'm not the one to spend money on something you can do yourself. Easy way or hard way.

Well the only thing you can't do with C2 is "preload" an asset that's not in the the current layout, and get some confirmation that it is loaded.

Well, you can preload . Just create an object and delete it right away (you even have some kind of confirmation that it's been loaded).

That object will stay loaded in memory until the Layout ends, making next layout load faster or be unloaded from memory with rest of the unused objects.

The idea would be to know exactly what objects are on next layout and simply create and destroy them. Preferably in some kind of sequence and time period to not make current game choke.

That's how I think that plugin work, but I bet it's nicely designed with nicer optimization and more user friendly.

if you make a plugin that will let me unload any object from current layout at any time at runtime then I'm ready to pay 20$ for it or even more

I use Toby's preloader plugin which makes it easy to preload what you need and get rid of that initial jank forever

20$ for something you can do in few events... don't think so.

• > Also, will those jerky frames on the beginning of layout will ever be taken care off by the scirra? Only construct does that.

>

I can't remember on which thread it was discussed, but to get rid of those frames you may try to put all the objects that will be created on this layout on it. Basically put them all on the layout (layout view), destroy them at the beginning of the layout, then create other instances when you need them. That way the new object are already in memory and creating them shouldn't slow down the game.

If you're doing this already, then I may misunderstand what the problem is.

You have completely misunderstood the problem. and your solution is not a solution or even a workaround cause instead of conserving memory your are filling it all up right at the start.

It's hard to believe that C3 is still that dumb to not be able to unload stuff from memory whenever you want.

• Event Editor

• could you please add something that will show current zoom level? I've accidentally change it and it looks kind of "wrong" for my eyes, and i can't change it back cause I have no idea how it was by default
• ability to reset zoom to 100%

Layout Editor

• ability to set zoom by typing in some value
• ability to set custom zoom steps - currently it goes like 100-110-121-133-146-161-177.... and so on. I like it be 100-125-150-175-200...
• some clear way to reset zoom to 100% it's not obvious at start that you can double click at "Zoom: xxx" in the corner to do that

• There is literally no difference where you start. C2 and C3 have exactly the same workflow. As a beginner you probably won't use any of third party plugins or any of advanced stuff, so you can go ahead and start with C3.
