This is one of several Combat Engines included in the Building "Combat Engines" for Browser Games workshop ebook found on Amazon, Leanpub.com, or the Construct Asset Store. It is available here for those who have not attended the workshop or were not interested in all the other combat engines. License and source code is available from either Leanpub.com/cgc-combatengine OR the Construct Asset Store ebook.
Combat Engine #10 ("CE10") is a "First Person Perspective" using simultaneous game turns.
CE10 can be either a client/server or client-side only "First Person" combat system; it is managed entirely locally inside the client-side browser or from a server. It is "fast" because it eliminates all the "travel time between client and server" for a "Single Player / Single Avatar" vs. AI-Bot game(s) and "Multi-Player/Single Avatar".
- This game is a simultaneous "First Person" combat engine between two aggressors. It is not a "turn-based" game.
- Each combatant runs three jousts against their opponent. The winner (with the highest score) moves up in the tournament's list. If a gamer defeats 3 opponents, they become the "Regional Tournament Champion".
- CE10 edition IS three (3) game editions in one: a "Stand-alone", an "In-Game Module" (IGM), and a "2-Player" combat system. It accepts client-side browser inputs, AJAX, and then processed by the server's PHP, or entirely managed inside the client's browser. As a "2-player" game, it waits a configurable amount of time for another to join. If the timer expires, it continues gameplay as a "Single Player vs. AIBOT". This is a feature missing in nearly all MMoG!
- Construct CE10.1 (IGM) is one of several Combat Engines created specifically for the Adventurers of Renown™ and Legends of Renown™ (LoRD) Gaming Series. This edition allows you to integrate your gaming system, import characters, and export untainted results; it is a "PERFECT In-Game Module" to include in your gaming products.
- Construct CE10.2 (demo) is NOT a client/server combat system. It is for a single player only against an AIBot OR 2 players.
- Construct CE10.3 is the "2-player" version using WebSockets and the Construct Multi-player server. If another player is NOT present within a configurable amount of time, this version reverts to a "Single-Player (Host) vs. AIBot" game. Keep your gamers returning with friends to avoid this "time out"!
- There are initially two combatants, they inflict damage by using their lance from pre-configured settings. Gamers can customize their heraldric "Coat of Arms", avatar characteristics, and many other advanced gaming options such as a "Regional Tournament Map" to become Champion of several regional jousts!
