  • Ashley Tom and the rest of the Construct team

I know it's still a week away, but I just wanted to wish the Construct team a Merry Christmas and an awesome holiday. I am extremely happy to see how C3 has evolved this year and completely blown away by all the awesome additions (especially the Scene Graph, Mesh Distortion, and Timeline features).

I have never been happier using a game engine as I am using Construct and can't wait to make lots of new games using it.

Construct has always been great, but it has really evolved into an amazing piece of software that is a complete joy to use. You never have to fight this engine to make games, you just have fun and focus on creating.

The constant and regular updates are also something I haven't seen anywhere else.

This engine is worth every cent and I can't wait to see what the new year brings :)

Thank you all very much for all the hard work!

  • Hi guys / Ashley

Is there a way to move all the children to a different layer without listing them one by one?

This also goes for applying effects, z-order, and so on.

Thank you in advance for any help :)

PS. I LOVE the new scene graph features!

  • tarek2 Thanks for the info, looks like I'm not the only one with the issue. I'm honestly not sure whether this is the iPads fault or something in C3 not syncing up.

Ashley Thank you for the reply. I'm only using built features like Tween / Sine, and at no point am I moving any sprites manually. I'm not aware of anywhere where I would be limiting the framerate.

Here is a question - even though the iPad pro can update at 120hz, could we not lock the game to a max of 60fps? There is something definitely not syncing up and I'm honestly not sure where the issue lies.

PS. It's not that the game doesn't run well - it's hard to describe. Any fast-moving objects just seem to be leaving a weird ghosting trail (not present when iPad set to 60pfs).

    Thank you in advance :)

  • Hi guys / Ashley

I've been playing around with an iPad pro and there is some very noticeable ghosting/stutter at the device's default 120hz.

When I set the iPad Pro's limit to 60fps, everything looks perfectly smooth.

Is this something that should be reported (bug), or is it a device-specific issue?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Ashley - Thanks heaps for your help and the link :)

  • Hi guys

Someone I'm working with is having a problem getting a C3 game on their server to work on iOS.

The same game works just fine on my server (Bluehost), so I'm wondering whether they might have some scripts missing etc.

This is the errors I get (iOS) when I test the game on their server ...

[Error] Origin http://www.[somesite].org is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. [Error] Fetch API cannot load https://www.[somesite].org/not_found.asp due to access control checks. [Error] Failed to load resource: Origin http://www.[somesite].org is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. Any ideas on what this means (something to do with audio decoding?)

PS. For privacy reasons, I've changed the website name to [somesite] - in the error message above

Thank you heaps in advance :)

  • Ashley No problem, thank you for the reply :)

  • Ashley - ok, I understand :) What about loading music from an external file, only of the user chooses.

    Would something like this work?

  • Hi Ashley

Thank you for the response :) Is there a way to allow only loading music by choice?

  • Hi guys

If I import music into the music folder (which as far as I know streams it), when exactly does the music start downloading?

Is it when the whole project is loaded, or only when the music is first played?

Thank you in advance for any help :)

  • Hi AllanR

Thanks heaps for the reply :) Luckily the latest C3 update fixed the issue I was having so yay!

For the future I will definitely be more careful.

  • Hi guys

I've accidentally save my project with a new version of C3. Is there a way to revert to an earlier version?

Thanks you heaps in advance :)

  • Hi guys

I've had a few weeks off to reset my brain but I'm back on my 2019 #7daygame challenge. The last link I posted was for game 11 (I think).

There are now 21 coffee break style games on my site if you're interested :)

    http://www.ninjadoodle.com

I really enjoy making these game and will eventually put them all into a big arcade style app.

Have fun and let me know what you think ... thaaaaanks!

PS. I've also started a new Construct 3 tutorial series where I make a game from scratch (that includes coming up with the idea and sketching lol).

  • Lumicreative.com - I've wrote a short review on the Play Store :) Really enjoy your other games as well btw. Just found you on Twitter - I love seeing what other devs work in progress, it's inspiring!

  • Awesome job :) I just bought your Super Tiny Dungeon Hero game and I really like it. I'm a fan of minimalist stuff when done right, and the gameplay here is spot on!

The only thing I wish you could do is to reverse the control buttons - arrows on the right and jump on the left. The default feels a little unnatural for me.

    Keep up the awesome work!
