It's difficult to figure out what you need before you know what you're doing, even when the tools are made available for trial.

Some people tend to use a "hope for the best" method and pick something reasonably priced.

A subscription may alleviate some issues with buyer's remorse, but I doubt highly that it was a huge issue any way.

It's like that Star Trek sweater you got from your aunt sitting in the back of the closet. Nobody's taking that thing back.

And maybe you'll use it one day, when it's cold at the Treky convention.

My next suggestion is the pay per event type method.

    10 cents for triggers

25 cents for if then types

    50 cents for an else

50 dollars for each "for each object", or "every tick"

Yeah, some of y'all are gonna be broke.

  • There was a glitch in the store where things could get retired accidentally.

The fix set off the refund emails.

  • I wish I had 10 bucks for every time I've said this, but Im pretty sure you don't need the for each, and I'm absolutely positive you don't need the every tick.

  • Make a feature request I guess.

Im not sure that a runtime addition is the best method. More options like templates for the export would be better imo.

I'd like an option for three columns with a header, and footer for example.

    But Construct2 isn't a html editor.....

  • You would be better off editing the index.html at this point.

With C3 you can get on Steam and iOS. That's more than enough exporting features for you to make money and get exposure with. I think the major problem with developers is phycological. There's a mindset that "if you are not coding you won't ever get the flexibility you need".

You need to minimize your game development problems and C3 does that.

I'd like to minimise my game development problems, but you just spent $300 in one paragraph.

  • Well there's this thing called C3.

Im pretty sure that cancels out any plans for further C2 development.

  • Yeah, you should re-examine that one.

A: Nobody said it has to be free.

    B. It's easy to bypass anyway.

    C. There are a multitude of other uses for the basic export, apps, ads, as well as a replacement for powerpoint, pdf, and flash in general.

Do what you want, It doesn't really matter at this point, the users will make do with what they have to make a living.

Making it easier to use is only a selling point.

  • Nope.

  • Just add a generic html5 export (fullscreen only) without the local file warning.

That will cover most of the extraneous platforms, including Electron.

  • "Dear diary

At least I learned one thing that year"

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

I have to say that bad capitalism should never ever be allowed and the mentality you hold for allowing product makers to sell their product for any hugely unfair price really allows for that so I think we have a right to say that we do not want to be paying for more then we should unless their's a fair reason for it .

That's not how a free market, or capitalism works.

    Supply and demand dictate price.

If they price it too high, not enough people will subscribe.

If they price it too low, then business is not sustainable.

If the demand continues with an overpriced product, then other products will come about to fill the void.

Competition means they either reduce price, or increase quality.

That math for GameMaker Studio 2 is what's a little crazy.
