  • I think it’s a good thing you decided to do this early for exactly this reason.

Are there any plans to maybe add additional addons or improved ones from Devs now leaving plugins abandonware?

Scirra version of Move To and Pin To for instance. Just improving the “stock” addons could go a long way in some cases.

  • Hello everyone! This is my first plugin, Random Color. It’s based on the David Mer?eld’s function (link). Like the original function, my plugin generates attractive colors and produces bright colors with a reasonably high saturation.

    Nice job.

    Thank you!

  • Construct 3, from what I saw of Stencyl last - wipes the floor with Stencyl.

Way easier to use and a lot faster to implement.

I would need to go have a look at Stencyl again to make a updated opinion though.

But yeah, Stencyl sort of got stuck at the certain point and never really advanced.

The forums here has turned a bit sour as of late though.

  • I dont think its a disaster befalling you but I would have been concerned if just one potential of my user base left for another because of matters I could easily have prevented by implementing simple systems. 10-20 users is a potential other coder, PR person, etc. Not to mention ones that left that built features for me for free.

That's how I see it anyway.

    Your reputation precedes you.

    godspeed.

  • There are a lot of features with votes though and those don't seem to get any attention either. So it does not seem that you are taking amount of votes into consideration anyway, so why start now?

Ashley I wish you would post SOME sort of roadmap.

Short term: Get C3 runtime stable

Medium term: Add plugins A B X and Y since users need this to build great projects that can showcase Construct 3.

Long Term: Add pinnable autohide somehow

    Just examples.

This way we can all get a sense of what Scirra is doing/going.

If you care at all and can see some of the debates going on off forum you would definitely be concerned. I mean this in the best of ways since i have a vested interest in C3 since I'm building projects in it and paid for it. I and many others feel very unsure about where we are heading and lately there are so many issues cropping up and the retort is always - Apple, Chrome, Google, Web builder, etc. It feels like you are buying time for other platforms to mature before you can move ahead. People are jumping ship and new users are being shown away, and they are finding homes in other software. Important members that did a lot for us and you frankly. If you are ok with this then I'm even more concerned.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but please consider some sort of roadmap. Read ROADMAP not TIMELINE.

The odd Blog posts is not roadmap.

  • Hehe difficult one.

I have a drive full of half completed projects for this exact reason.

I think we need to just get over the fact that if we are going to be working on a project for a long time you will get bored while playing it since there is no "discovery".

Discovery and exploration of both the game world and mechanics etc makes games of this kind interesting. I'd say give it to a tester or two and see what they say.

  • Hmmm... have you tried to add the Mac platform above instead of the Else for testing purposes?

  • What exactly is the issue you are having with the external files?

And how have you set it up.

Post your file or screenshot it.

  • All the files will be bundled (added to your project folder when you export). It will be contained within the NW.JS file. You should have no imported file issue unless you are specifically referencing them from outside for some other reason.

  • Hi Max,

Just tried with my project and exported to Mac64 using latest Chromium (as per exporter). Used all default options ticked.

After also popping up with unidentified developer, I went to system prefs said open anyway, typed in password and it opened.

I think there is another problem somewhere perhaps.

  • Hello all, I wanted to ask if it's available for Linux, this would include the full version. Apologies if this is in the wrong category.

No but Construct 3 is available on Linux.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Shouldn't it be more like how the Else works?

This condition block, Or this other block condition.

Yeah that's how it will make more sense to me as well.

  • I feel they must actually focus on getting the C3 runtime out ASAP so we can get busy with maturing C3. There will have to be porting and developing of addons / plugins yet again?

I was straddling 2 competing products....C3 and another one, but currently C3 is winning out primarily because of speed of creation. I can do things much quicker in here than in the other tool, however, if they bring some of the features and speed of the runtime in - I don't think I'll be using the other product for my main development tool, esp if the features from the wishlist being voted for gets implemented (Few of them are "Wait for new runtime.", lots of ones "Undecided." )

Either way I'm really excited for the new runtime and new features since I reckon this has been what was needed after C2.

  • I would also say the price is not the issue with regards to Construct 3.

Its great and you will be on your way to making games in no time.

If however you really have something against subs...instead of the Gamemaker option rather try Clickteam Fusion 2.5. Also no coding needed. And non Subscription based. With Fusion 3 on the horizon that promises a lot.

Both Construct 3 and Fusion 2.5 has pros and cons when comparing them to one another.

I seem to find Constructs way of doing the events and add-ons a little bit more intuitive and quicker.

  • VS GameSalad I'll take Construct 2 or 3 any day of the week and twice on Weekends

VS other tools....there may be more of a fair fight.
