  • It works. I primed it by pasting one of the bigger demo projects. IT figured everything out on its own. I removed the comments tho so they dont clutter. But they may have been helpful.

It spits out code that I can just copypaste into Construct3 and it works

  • If you copy an event in C3 editor and paste it into Notepad, it's pasted as JSON string. You can probably train ChatGPT by giving it different JSON strings and explaining what each of them mean. After that it may be able to generate events which you could simply paste into C3.

It works without further explanation. Will explore further.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. Exactly. Thank you so much and I'm so happy you exist!

  • Any ideas apart from plugging in Javascript? Something that works with all the behaviours and actions etc. Something that chatGPT can debug as well and its easy to understand.

I'm willing to prime GPT4 to do this as well, with manuals and such.

    Any ideas?

  • It's not time based, you'll find posts from ancient history still available. Posts that break the rules could be removed the same day though.

some are removed early because "they're not adding anything new to the conversation", which is strange to have the need to lock something because nothing new is being added :p

  • So I should leave here? No wonder this place is cricketting more and more :p

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I see. So it's left to the whims of whoever has the power to decide.

Then it is peculiar that a 5 month post gets removed.

  • Hi,

Was considering how centralized & exploitable browser based software is since devs can always pull the rug under developers just like Apple banning devs from the Appstore for whatever reason.

People have learnt a language, they've invested countless years, sometimes decades to learnt he language and suddenly they have no more access to the software, to their livelihoods, to something they love.

Whenever companies get pissed off at their users specifically, no matter how petty it is, they can cut access to everything if its browser based, or some subscription based suite kind of software like Adobe offers.

One day we might see politically motivated bans for certain software. Why? Because they can. That's the inherent evil in cloud based services. It supports an almost oppressive control over individual users in a centralized manner.

  • Just curious how this goes usually since admins might start using it to shut down conversations they dislike.

Unless the answer is 5 months and they get closed, in which case I apologize.

We have to be mindful of the mental health of video game designers & remind them often about this as often as possible. So they can relax and not worry so much.

There's nothing more relaxing than a nice popup I'm sure anyone that does this would agree with me.

Let's not be robots and cynical so our posts don't get zucked, I mean closed, and lets help out the community.

I'm starting a brand new post because I've completely changed my mind.

Some people work really hard, and when you work really really hard for hours, you need a reminder to relax and chill. Maybe every 15 minutes a popup could appear that forces you to breathe and think of good thoughts.

We gotta take care of people to feel calm and not frustrated by introducing more popups and frequent ones.

Maybe we can make a competition for photos to appear every 10 minutes that appear relaxing, covering the entire screen. Wouldn't that be great?

I wonder why no serious software does this.

Might I suggest an initial Never show again button? If enough people complain that is.

That's awesome but instead of patching up an obviously wrong & irritating decision, why don't we think why no other serious software has this feature?

EDIT referring to the decision to have the button in the first place :p

    Menu>Settings>Show take a beak...

Thank you, but its more about the principle and honestly just really really common sense. Flat shaped 2 dimensional common sense. Agrarian 11th century glory to the king like

7.5 minutes is JUST RIGHT. lemme touch grass now

Imagine if your operating system popped up with a warning that you've been working for 2 hours

Imagine if in the middle of a movie, Netflix interrupted you that you've been watching for 2 hours

Imagine if Photoshop asked you to stop using the software because it determined you're using it too much

The feature on Construct 3 while I understand is well intended, causes way more frustration than help. It also dissolves trust that popups are important so users will X popups more often considering them irrelevant

These are basic UX practices and it saddens me deeply that they made it into the final product
