But that's not with C2, right?

Actually both are made in construct. The Android version made in XDK generates 100 times more income than the iOS version made with CocoonJS. Sadly my iOS is the only one with alot of downloads so I wish it was reversed. I'll try to export to iOS with XDK and see if that changes anything.

Too bad it takes such a god damn long time to publish for iOS x)

  • Yep, same here. I have about 60 000 impressions in a week and just got about 3$ for it on iOS With admob on Android I have about 500 impressions and got 6$ for it with the exact same ad settings on both platforms.

  • Thank you for this. I'll try it out next time and see if it works

  • I know. I finally made a game that people actually download and keeps playing but don't earn anything on it. But the ads are showing and everything so I wonder where the money goes

I'm very interested in making my iOS games with XDK. Tried but with no luck. I don't own a Mac so when I upload for iOS I borrow from friends and all the certificates you need to publish a game on the app store makes me insane. So god damn complicated.

So if you have a working guide I would really appreciate it

  • I have no doubt that ads are a good source of income. I just meant that it is not worth it in my game at the moment until I've found out the problem. I have plenty of friends making alot of money on ads.

But something seems to be wrong with the cocoonjs admob plugin. Because I've made more money on the same app on android exported with crosswalk with only 250 impressions than I've made on iOS with 50 000 impressions

I have interstitial ads but no one clicks them because I don't make them pop up in the middle of the game, hehe. I refuse to trick people to click ads.

  • I have around 50 000 impressions now with a bottom banner and it has generated about 3$ so I have turned off the ads now because it isn't worth it

  • It won't show up in preview. You have to export the project for android with cocoonjs or xdk and then install the app on you device.

  • No, the first game was made in Flash and the new remake is made in another engine. Not sure wich one but probably not C2.

But that doesn't mean you can't make such a game in C2. Because that is totally possible to do

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hard to say. There are so many models and it depends on what you are targeting. I usually test my games on pretty old devices and make it run smooth on them and when it does it will be good on most devices. But can't give you any specific numbers.

For android I'm happy if the game runs good on Galaxy SII and for iOS I'm happy if the game runs good on iPhone 5 because iPhone 4 is so bad I usually won't bother trying to make the game run smooth on that crappy phone x)

  • No problem, good luck with your project

  • Try setting unbounding scrolling to YES in the layout properties.

That should center it but you will still see past the image on both sides if you have a really wide screen.
