  • It's been requested before, nobody did anything t implement a plugin <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

I guess whoever made the one for spine was paid by esoteric to do it and even uses the esoteric license - so people need to buy a spine license (300$) in order to use spine animations in construct2, while this FREE alternative that has all the same features is not supported in construct2

If we croudfund a dev, will it happen? Lets make some hot competition for esoteric.

If someone writes a plugin and sells the plugin, I would buy it- because it will be much less than the 300$ <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing">

There is already a financial incentive for someone to write one

btw, you already have the majority of the code:

    https://github.com/DragonBones/DragonBonesJS

so this is really baffling to me

Btw I am not mentioning Spriter, because it does not have mesh deformation, so it can't even compete with these two.

Ashley posted news on construct 3 in his blog:

    https://www.scirra.com/blog/ashley/31/2 ... technology

The news was that there is no news, but development is going well

    When's Construct 3 out?

Sorry! We still have no news to announce just yet. However Construct 3 development is going very well and we can't wait to share what we're building! Sign up at Construct3.com to be first to hear any news.

Interally our priority for most of 2016 has been Construct 3 development, which has slowed Construct 2 development somewhat. We've still been doing lots of work on C2 though as the release history shows.

  • you get spriter and pyxel edit for 1$ !

We should rename the thread to Construct 3- no news

I don't think pm-ing screenshots would go well - those will leak in the matter of seconds after being sent out.

On the 3d thing - construct2 can already do 3d via plugins for babylon or three.js - however the editor is not suited for 3d.

Ashley stated that in c3 - the editor will be hackable via plugins - so we might see 3d authoring in the editor as well - if the will of the community is strong

  • Try Construct 3

    Hello Ashley,

In Construct 3, will there be a system to build behaviors that can be scripted with a system of events and actions?

This will allow to build my own behaviors than i will be able add to sprites or other objects.

Have you planned this kind of features ?

    Thanks you very much.

    Jérôme

Object oriented programming would be nice to have. I think Ashley mentioned using the event sheet to create plugins

To make things worse, Game maker supports visual programming and even will soon show you output code of your visual programming in real time - to teach you to script

just provide a cool dark skin ..

    1 question out, 4 left

Perhaps we should make an faq on the first post of the thread. Thats what clickteam users did with fusion 3

Ashley will c3's editor be written in html5 too?

I am assuming that would make it easier to expose to the plugin system (no need to recompile) and easier to port over to mac and linux (html5 runs on everything)

Would that mean that construct3's editor is going to be packaged in something like nw.js ?

I am assuming things here, but I do think that would be kind of awesome for a html5 game engine to become 100% html5

Another question: Will it get a builtin plugin manager?

Right now scirra has a market place that is not at all integrated with the engine editor, it also has many many many community made plugins that are hosted on websites that are in danger of becoming dead links after a year or two. Installing/updating/removing plugins is still a process requiring the user to manually navigate to construct's program files folder and unzipping things. Will 3 solve that?

Do you also plan to make it possible to package plugins as construct files? You note that plugins will be possible to build purely with the event sheet. Does that include plugins that alter the editor itself?

Will all the ports (Linux and Mac) become available on release date? I am very much looking forward to the linux port.

If you dont want to answer any of the questions, Do you have any planned surprises for us with C3 - that it is too early to announce?

On clickteam's forum there is a thread very similar to this one... with one huge difference!

    http://community.clickteam.com/threads/ ... us/page128

fusion developers, from the very start actively follow it and answer whatever questions they have. Over a hundred pages of active dialogue.

Putting aside the two years it took them to get to the demo videos and dev blogging, they have been actively speaking about the next version with the users from the start.

On that front, hands down kudos to clickteam

  • Bought a copy, because you added some sweet new features! keep it up!

like the last episode of the walking dead, updates on Construct3 have been a snooze fest
