  • After using C2 for a while and better understanding the ways game engines and programming syntax vary, I was curious what is the basic hacking approach.

Giving it some thought, I would guess that they alter the variable values, since every game needs it to store important information, and various game engine uses different programming languages, which has different syntaxes but they all still need variables.

I understand that while it is almost impossible to stop a game from being hacked, how about knowing if a game has been hacked? I noticed that most games once you hack, it is recommended to never go online, because they will be able to tell if it has been hacked. Almost all pc games now have this, but I am not sure about mobile games. What do you think are some of the simple methods to tell if your game has been hacked, and or the score and results altered?

  • Honestly, it's always been a dream of mine, ever since I started playing video games! I guess the Nintendo and Micro Geniuses really impacted me that greatly. And when I played Final Fantasy VII....I saw games in a whole new light and always thought, wow I wish I was part of the people who could unleash our own fantasies and create worlds for other people to see and live it.

  • Yeah, it would be awesome for my game because it would totally make people throw up in like 3 seconds. Pretty hilarious

Now I would want to see that! Ok...maybe I don't want t see someone puke! Haha but it would be fun to see who can make the most head splitting, tummy churning game! I say I could do a Lamborghini and make it 2.9 seconds Haha!

  • I've never tried it before, but since the sword is a light saber style and it looks like it can be stretched, how about creating a image point in the middle of the enemy, than when you attack, set the sword length to reach the image point. If you can't directly access the image point, you could use variables for it.

If you want to make it appear like the sword comes out from the back, you could create a new object with origin from the imagepoint and give it the same angle as the sword angle.

  • I had the exact same problem when creating a tetris clone before. The best solution is to "snap" your piece in place. You could place invisible markers at each rows. Than when you want it to, use the pick nearest invisible marker, than set your piece Y to the invisible marker.Y. That will make sure your pieces are always precise in terms of position.

  • alan349, I think it i impossible for us to give you a real comparison of which is better because we really can't compare unless you can provide the two games for everyone to compare. Nice graphics can make a good game better, but it can't save a poor game. Good game play makes the game fun, but if the graphics aren't visually pleasing, players might not be attracted to try it out for the first time. An honest opinion can only be given once we can compare the two next to each other.

Personally, I would work on game mechanics and functions. If you feel it has the potential, you can always add graphics later on. Adding game mechanics later on is much much more difficult.

  • If you are talking about how much it can handle during game making, it also depends on your computer. If it has low specs, than you won't be able to handle much even if C2 can hande so much more. Like newt and spacedoubt mentioned, C2 is a 2D game engine, and I think it will be super rare to find 2D games that even reach 1gb.

  • Honestly, I think it would be very hard. I still remember the days as a young boy playing Sonic. The thing that made it so addictive was the heart racing when you hit high speed and was struggling to get a grip of where you are heading and what is in front of you. That's just my humble opinion though.

  • I have the same view as I prefer a one time fee rather than monthly subscriptions. I love your explanation of buying for business and as a hobbyist. Business spend big money and work on the project full time. Most hobbyist hold a full time job, or is still studying, and we can't guarantee when we will have the time to work on our games. Haha how many of us promised ourselves that we would complete a certain game mechanic by a certain time frame, only to have it still unfinished long after because of work, family and other important reasons as well.

  • I would love to help out, but right now I am on a three weeks long working trip. When I return, I am ok to be of help. For the time being though, if you need an icon, I will gladly do it for you right now. Just send me a pm about what you have in mind and I will get to it.

  • Nice find This is really interesting. I think most people will have an issue with not being able to control the ads more than the 2%. Wonder if they are going to make any changes to this.
