  • If the browser crashes, it's not a problem with C2. Either you used too much memory, or the bug is in the browser. See the bug report FAQ about reporting issues in browsers. Closing.

    Hi Ashley,

Thank you for the response. It's not a memory problem. I think it can be a problem with C2, if C2 creates javascript errors that the Safari browser might be sensitive to, and that other browsers might ignore.

I did some more testing. I deleted everything but the title layout in the old C2 project that was having the problem, and recreated everything in the title layout from scratch in a new C2 project. The new one works fine in Safari, and the old project still crashes Safari. They are identical (same images, and events, no third party plugins). Tests:

    http://giggleslugs.com/JSProblem1/index.html (old)

    http://giggleslugs.com/JSProblem2/index.html (new)

Whatever might be causing the problem, I just thought you might like to know about it.

  • try

    Button on clicked....Browser Execute JacaScript...Window print();

Thanks, korbaach. That only prints the current window? I'd like to print a PDF from a direct link to the file, if possible.

  • Does anyone how I can allow visitors to my website print a file from a direct URL? I'm trying to set it up where kids can print out a coloring page. I looked into the browser plugin and searched the forums, but no luck so far.

  • Problem Description

    C2 sine behaviour

Thanks, but I know how to set it up. Just trying to tweak the setting to make it look more natural. Here's my sine settings:

    Movement: Angle

    Wave: Sine

    Period Random: 3

    Period Offset: 0

    Period Offset Random: 4

EDIT: Oh wow, great link! Thanks. Some of those tricks might come in handy!

  • I put some blades of grass into my layout and I want them to gently sway back and forth. Has anyone done this before, and maybe already have the timing worked out? I'm trying to get a nature feel in the movement and I don't really trust my judgement.

  • If you are not great at digital art, try using a vector application and break everything down into simple shapes. With vector art, you can easily move parts around and resize them without losing image quality. Maybe take a crash course on color theory too. If you use simple design, color becomes extremely important.

Vector apps: Inkscape (Win,Mac,Linux), Illustrator (Win,Mac), CorelDraw, Flash (Win,Mac), DrawIt (Mac), iDraw (Mac), SK1 (Linux), Xara Xtreme (Mac, Linux), Stencil (Linux), Scribus (Win,Mac,Linux), ZeusDraw (Mac), Karbon14 (Linux), Synfig (Win,Mac.Linux), Adobe Draw (iOS), Adobe Ideas (iOS, Android), DoInk (iOS), Serif Draw Plus (Win),Canvas X 16 (Win), Intaglio (Mac), Ink Pad Pro (iOS).

  • Popeye and Snow White. 3D animation is cool, but I like 2D more. I think 2D has a lot more charm.

FYI: Sony is making a 3D Popeye film. Here's a link. The animation test starts at 2:02.

  • I don't have a lot of faith in Microsoft, but I voted on these too.

That's probably true, but animators and game artists are a bit different. We are use to collaborative efforts and work well in a team environment. We are more likely to share our work when possible. There are a few communities dedicated to game art, but nothing for artists working with C2. I think artists working with C2 are most likely working on personal projects anyway, and we wouldn't have much of a problem sharing our work. Artist love feedback! Art is all about communication.

I think so too. Thanks for the support!

  • Thanks for the website! I really dig this art! it's give you the power of awesome vector art without making it so much complex. I love simple bright art!

No problem. I like simplistic art too! I think you made a great choice in style.
