  • I have a very strange problem. When I load any lyout, a song starts playing. each layout has its own unique song. when i press space a menu pops up and i can go back to play or go to the main menu.

    when i go back to play, the song continues as is. when i go back to menu the song stops. so far so good.

    now when i select a different layout, there is no music. debug mode tells me that the music is loaded but doesnt start to play. when i go back to the layout i started first, music plays but only on the layout i started first. since i can chose whcih layout to start first, the results are always the same: the next few layouts have the song loaded but it doesnt start to play. i tried recreating that bug with a different file and that didnt help. i am not that new to the program and usually figure things like this out but this is just weird^^

    Any ideas?

  • I am currently developing a game for Wii U - I am a licensed Wii U developer - and am very far in development. I am now looking for somebody who can refine my code, my events, smooth everything out and help me towards the end.

    If you are good with Construct 2 and know how to achieve some tricky feats with events, codes and things like this, you are my person. I hope to launch an indiegogo crowdfunding campaign by december and hope for funding. This funding will go directly towards the development of the game and in that sense, to you.

    The game is very far ahead. This is not me trying to start from scratch, I already developed and finished a few games throughout my years, this is me tryig to get help to polish the game. SO far it is fully playable and completeable, so technically I can finish it myself at this point, but I guess having somebody to help me with it is a better idea, especially with the einevitable porting to the Wii U console.

    For further informationa bout the project, please mail me to - do not reply here with questions, if you can't be bothered to write me a mail, how can I expect you to finish a game?

  • Okay I just figured out a different way that does the same thing so yeah, you can close this

  • So I want to create a save system where the player can select from where they want to start once they reached a certain point in the game.

    I set up a save game system and that works so no problem there. But of course the loading only loads the entire savegame from where I am. But I want to load only certain variables for certain spots.

    The idea is it that from the start menu, you can chose the stage (i have a few of those) you want to start from after you completed them. Let's say I complted 5 stages and the game autosaves after every stage, I want the player to be able to chose which of those 5 completed stages they want to load. Maybe they missed something in stage 3 so they want to load Stage 3 again WITHOUT overwriting their save file (so that they can play stage 5 again without needing to complete stage 4).

    Since i set up the stage selectio with global variables it would be nice to just load that particular variable instead of the entire save file^^

    I'm sorry but I don't understand this image. Why do doors have platform behaviors and why are they simulating movement?

    they don't, they have 8 way behavior and they simulate movement to move up and down, depending on where I need them^^

    i literally copied that from this forum, i don't know why it is so hard to believe that...

    sorry, didn't mean to be rude, i just said it twice already and it is really frustrating that i can't get this to work.

    really, all i do is copy your suggestions into the files. technically you see the events since those are your events but it does not work even remotely close to what it is supposed to do. and i am running out of options...

    but all i do is copy YOUR code into my game. the entire door file has NO OTHER CODE WHATSOEVER!

    i copied the expressions from shinkan into my game and it does not work. i can't post the capx due to NDA but as said, i did EXACTLY what i was supposed to do and it did not work.

    i'll try the abs thingy now and see where that takes me though

    edit: well abs opened the door when i came in from the right, but not from the left so its pretty much exactly the same as simply comparing x
