  • Firefox - jittering

    Chrome - jittering

Internet Explorer - small jitter every a few seconds

summary: you can do nice HTML5 games, but you can't play them well

  • Construct 3 as an add-on for Unity = no more problems with exporters. Buttersmooth everything

  • it seems that the best option would be Construct 3 as an add-on to Unity

  • Alatok

if I would like to make 100% serious, 100% professional game/app, and have enough money for that - then hiring Unity guy would be the best option. Construct 2 is great for simple games and prototyping, but Scirra does not take any responsability for good working of the final product.

Anyway we can also call ludei about micro-stuttering issue.

  • I have tested SNE on Alcatel One Touch Flash, so octa core MTK + 1 GB RAM [ http://images.droidsans.com/sites/defau ... lash_o.jpg ]. And now I was playing for 4-5 minutes and it was still hmm... I guess 60 fps but jumpy spaceships movement, jumpy planets rotation etc. Anyway it's good to know that at least iOS runs very good. So nevermind. Just FYI

    Sisyphus

so now I'm waiting for fixed Crosswalk and/or native AdMob in CocoonJS Canvas+.

  • Sisyphus

PhoneGap is not ready, but Ludei webview+ is almost ready?

so it will be perfect when webstorage issue will be fixed and we will have possibility to use native AdMob

    btw.

About Android: I have just found some blog post from the end of the 2013.

"The KitKat WebView is based on Chromium 30 and it won’t be updated. That means you are stuck with it unless to get an upgrade in the future of the whole OS to next version. Even Google has announced OS delta updates without vendors’ intervention, but it seems the WebView will not get that deal yet. Therefore and based on Chrome release cycle, in one year we will have Chrome 40 and the WebView will still be in 30."

  • on YouTube movie I see smooth movement, on Android (even when I switched to ART) I see jumpy movement. I guess that many players think that it's the way it should be (because your game has nice, old school feeling). Anyway: how do you use WKWebView? Compile game with PhoneGap?

Yes, you can make great game with Construct 2 but you have 0% guarantee that it will work well on any platform Anyway I disagree with you - Hungry Hal by ArcadEd works quite well, thanks to From the other hand jittering is very visible on Star Nomad by , thanks to Crosswalk and bad Chromium.

  • 1) I don't understand these people who understimate casual mobile games. If you want to make big desktop game - it's okay. Good luck. But making games cost lots of money (i.e. professional design) and casual games are the best option for begginers. Someone can make casual game -> gets money from ads etc. -> have money for more serious game.

    2) Scirra could make some deal with rojohound and add some new plugins in Construct 2.

    3) As for now the biggest issue is that both exporters recommended by Scirra - Node-Webkit (PC) and Crosswalk (mobile) are not good for something bigger than simple game. You can make advanced game, but you should be able to play this game without serious issues (i.e. jittering).

    4) Fortunetly there is still CocoonJS, so I hope that they will implement native AdMob ads soon.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • lude

    that's great news, woow

  • If Google knows about this issue, then when it will be fixed?

    2015?

    2016?

    beyond? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

    p.s. I have found this:

    http://blog.chromium.org/2012/11/build- ... hrome.html

    and Chromium team e-mail:

    chrome.cordova@gmail.com

  • I got similar feeling that after some time game works more smooth on Crosswalk. But it is useful only in case game like yours (= when player spends lots of time on big layout) than simple platformer. But I agree that Crosswalk looks nice (not counting this micro-jittering issue). And native AdMob is much, much better than MoPub. My friend has 99% on fullscreen ads and 3 eCPM. Maybe I will have to put banners on the bottom of the screen (just to earn something more), and then wait for better Chromium.
