  • Uh oh, I think that perhaps there is some warp in the space-time continuum.

  • jobel wait what? He is already using Construct as a verb on the tee.

  • zenox98 he is from the future; can you not tell from his profile picture?

  • QuaziGNRLnose good point. I recently noticed Unity moving to HTML5 as their web base. Also note: Unreal Engine 4's web export also uses HTML5. Heck, even Game Maker's web export is HTML5.

However, while Unity, GM:S. and Unreal have HTML5/WebGL export features, as far as I know they all have a one-and-done solution for mobile where Construct 2 is not even close.

In the very least, I suppose we should be happy that any web-specific "woes" should begin being hammered out simply by the fact that the top powers in the game engine world are either all turning to HTML5, or have already done so, rather than external plugin solutions.

  • Aphrodite I already tried replying to Winkr him but he never said anything back:

winkr7 that sounds like you just haven't set one of the Fullscreen in Browser modes: https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/73/sup ... sizes#h2a1

    That was my hunch.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • ErekT the is exactly what I get out of his invitation. Hence I sent my own game off to him for performance evaluation, and I'll be waiting a few business days, hopefully.

When Ashley gives out how own email address, I feel like there is not much excuse left to complain.

On the other hand, I think a mobile game by Scirra themselves would be convincing. They take all the design and suggestions of 3rd party solutions and DIY a game.

  • yuno44907 your actions are hostile, as I see in your reply to Excal and the end of your post, "For some retarded people". That is not professional and encourages users to ignore your posts completely.

Also, the amount of information you repeatedly post is difficult to parse. If you would like more feedback, and feedback for each revision, instead, post a short comment that lets us know what you have changed in your main/first post and update that one every time. Do not post each revision to your idea separately, and do not add snide remarks.

  • Ashley, so I started using Chrome's JavaScript profiler. It seems to crash more often than not when I hit "record" and a few seconds after the game starts... Is that bad? Or does that occur occasionally?

  • I have been working on something similar myself! You can follow the manual here to make use of the handy Video plugin: https://www.scirra.com/manual/181/video

I recommend encoding in MPEG-$'s h.264 and WebM's VP8, since VP9 does not seem to be working in my own projects, and then you can place them in your project file using the C2 project file import.

I used it for showing tutorials, and what I did was record myself playing (using GifCam) on a portion of the game screen (essentially just enough to show the mechanics), and then export in a lossless format to preserve quality for when I needed to convert it to various formats.

Or, if you have your own edited video, then you can do the exporting yourself with a video editor. If you do not have access to one that can export as a WebM in VP8, then you can use a tool such as FFMPEG through command line parameters (not sure what kind of GUI's there are available) to convert a lossless video file (such as uncompressed AVI, which you will first need to export as, if you are using a video editor such as Camtasia, or Windows Movie Maker, or Sony Vegas, & etc.).

I may make a video tutorial for this process. We shall see with what time I have available, because the Video plugin is quite a nice tool to have.

  • Nesteris [quote:2r8llqnz]I trust you to not do anything malicious.

psst Ashley, replace all of his audio with Rick Astely

  • DetteMan, you are, in fact, correct. Runs without a hitch!

FredQ, I have All the more reason to suspect there is something I have omitted in my build, since your video plays just fine. And thank you for linking it, by the way. Now I know I'm not totally crazy. ; )
