  • completely static, completely new blank project. It just stays there and it syphons precious CPU

It drains a lot even on 200 words loaded in it. Does it not do that on your export? And I'm using the default spritefont sheet, not some fancy big other one.

  • It constantly drains 30 FPS on 200 spritefont, 50 on 500 word sprite font and so on.

this is strictly CocoonJS, and not on load, but at all times. I can report this as a bug if it might be a bug. And if it is, its going to save me about 2 weeks of work

Real browsers it works perfectly, no real noticeable drain on FPS....

  • Spritefont is extremely slow on mobile (cocoonJS) when you load it with even 200+ words...

  • Even just 270 words on one spritefont object causes -30 FPS. I think that CocoonJS loads ALL the sprites, visible or not. Damn it. This would've solved so much for the project I'm working on.

  • I use a spritefont.png which is 256x256, but load like 1500 or even 1000 words in it, and on the first gen ipad mini it totally drops to 2 FPS

This is a clean project, I have NOTHING else.

Any ideas how to optimise? Can I somehow turn off collision checks? Is it up to CoocoonJS to fix it? Any tips?

  • , you are god and thank you!

  • Blur is highly GPU or processor intensive on tablets. I used Glass and then blur horizontal and blur vertical, but it takes about 40 fps from my tablet game.

I modified the Glass FX file and removed the distorting elements so its less hardware intensive, I also modified the blur effects a bit, but it's still very resource heavy.

Maybe an optimized blur mask would be lovely for the next update

  • eli0s, I would also love to find out the answer to your question

  • Magistross It's working and fuckyeah and thankyou and fuckyeah. Even if the text object is still slow on cocoonJS, this is a superior way to load text for me. May you find 500 000 dollars on the ground, randomly, today.

  • Magistross, THANK YOU. I will check this out immediately.

I can't use sprite font since I have a lot of text formatting, I use verdana and I there is letter specific kerning there. I sure hope AJAX works faster on tablets.

  • eli0s Exactly. That's what I wanted to know. Use Json or something? How would that work? What's the simplest way, and fastest?

On set text, my project lag CONSIDERABLY on the ipad and iphone 5S. I can't have that. It drops to 5 FPS, from a constant +60

So I was considering not using "set text" or "append" but to load it from an external file.

jakepugh15 I meant through code, on runtime, not via project. Sorry I wasn't clear.
