  • Ok, this might be trivial, but how do I place an object which exists within a sub-folder, back in a parent folder???

I can simply drag and drop an object in a sub-folder within the hierarchy structure, but I can't figure out how to do the opposite!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Elias

  • This second link did the trick for me!

    Man, this is the simple programming?!? <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Thank you very much tulamide !!! Again, once more an excellent example!!!

  • Oh wow, my best wishes and hopes for an even more creative future!   <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Dear tulamide

    I can't get your example from copy.com.

I might doing something wrong but I registered in order to download it and if I click on download I get this:

    {"result":"error","error_code":"1012","error_string":"Cannot find requested object id "}

If I send it on the copy folder and try to download it from there, it comes as an 22kb zipped file which is empty?!

Can you check on the copy.com link or provide us an other download option to your (very informative I am sure) example? <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Thank you,

    Elias

  • Oh my god tulamide!

I was under the impression that the x and y in the distance(x1,y1,x2,y2)expression where placeholder names for the objects (Player.X, Sprite.X, Player.Y, Sprite.Y) and the 1 and 2 where representing the x and y coordinates...!!! Now that I think of it, I don't understand how I convinced my self of that! <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

That was a mean .capx my friend, thank you so much!!! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I know that there has being a long time since this post, but have you managed to figure this out? I am having the same problem with you, I want to trigger an action (enable collisions) on instances of the same sprite based on the distance of the player.

I've tried any combination of "for each" but nothing works with the distance expression. If I use a comparison based on X position values it works, but this isn't what I want.

  • I haven't confirmed it my self yet, but I read somewhere that if the audio files are imported on the Music folder, you can't playback more than one at the time.

Try importing the files on the Sounds folder and playback them from there.

  • You can achieve this result using the EaseTween or LiteTween behaviors, made by lunarray http://www.scirra.com/forum/behavior-litetween_topic53288_page1.html

  • Excellent post(s)!

+1 to all of the above!

I also wish that some visual, "behavior" like additions were made to the audio plugins. An Interface and Functions that are easy to access, link and change their parameters, like controlling volume, time scale (which translates as tempo+pitch stretching), and all of the advanced audio effects. All these can be coded with events and variables, but most of the time it's difficult and the more sounds you have, the more complicated it gets. I guess something like Families and Containers combined, with all of the above functionality accessed thru the object type properties panel.

    I hope I make any sense   <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    You're welcome <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I guess the paste to place functionality was added recently and went by unnoticed. After all, as I understand, many people prefer to code events for creating assets at run time. This isn't always easy or practical though.
