    For some reason, I can't add other frames to my particle emitter. Is this normal?

  • Hey everyone!

    I have setup an emitter to follow the bouncing ball in my game. The effect I am looking for is a sort of trail... like a comet. I got that all working but there are a few issues at hand.

    When the ball changes its frame to something else. Is there a way to update the particle emitter at the same time. I didn't see any way to change the frames in the events sheet.

    Also I would like the particles to spawn behind the ball, instead of on top. My first thought it to just add another layer. But, I think there may be a proper way to do this?

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    I want the one sprite to duplicate itself and show each separate frame. If not then I will just place 20 sprites, no biggy.

    Today I am working on a sort of level select layout. I have created sprites for levels 1 through 20. To keep the number of objects to a minimum, I have put them all into a single animated sprite sheet.

    How would I go about placing this sprite at x,y on frame 1... a,b on frame 2... etc etc?

  • There could be some visual advantages with limiting your game to 24fps. Mainly for cut-scenes.

  • Hey guys/gals, me again!

    I have a quick issue that I need explained to me in more, "newb focused" terms.

    Start Menu has a button/sprite, that when clicked, goes to the level select layout.

    Now, I don't want to load a new layout because I have an animated background and I want to keep it going from its current position. So, my fix for this is to slide the "Start, Options, Exit" buttons off the screen and slide in the Level "1 2 3 4 5" sprites.

    Can anyone explain how to do this?

  • I gave up on it. Just going to use something more subtle.

  • I am using a simple particle system to add a rain type effect.

    EXAMPLE:

    The shape I am using is 40 pixels long, 10 pixels high.

    When the particle is emitted I am shown a 20 pixel by 20 pixel image.

    Like it has been squished together... The sprite that I am using has been cropped properly... Not sure how to fix this, any help?
