  • FYI, Ludei expressed interest in the work you all are doing, can someone make a list of all the forks and what they have in them and which ones are stable and which ones are just for playing?

    They want to take a look at what you area doing.

    Well what i can tell is that they broke the ads functions, i tried to fix them but its too much work, they can see by themselfs in the cocoon debug.

    • Preload bugged, Refresh Full Screen Bugged, Show Full Screen bugged, probably all banner functions.
    • Googleplay services kinda work the hotfix made the community for preview
    • refresh purchases i dont think they work anymore

    Their 2.0.0 beta compiler did in fact fixed the music crash on sleep, but i heard its very unstable for some phones(crashes) - not tested.

  • fullscreen ads can be fixed with every 30/60 second cocoon refresh full screen ad, and on call show full screen ad, it will show every time, unfortunately the new cocoon plugin, frack ups the refresh full screen ad function...

  • oh i see, mine doesnt look like that. So i am on the new version and thats why it might not work? I guess. I'll wait a few days to see if somehow it will start to work, hopefully somebody will update the plugin/compiler or i will have to switch back to 1.4.7

  • My banner ads seem fine in my tests, I haven't tried fullscreen ads in 2.0 yet. I'll try to this week.

    I am using the old version of Admob though, so I'm not sure if that is causing any difference. I don't know why it would.

    What u mean the old version ED? I only used Admob since March, so i am not very proficient.

  • so how did you guys managed to make cocoon js ads (admob+mobpub) work in 2.0 ? on 1.4.7 they work but fullscreen ad refresh brings a white page on top of everything and i want to use 2.0 since they fixed the crashing on sleep if you have music. ArcadEd Ed you use fullscreen ads, did you have problems with 2.0 compiler? Did you do anything different to make it work? Actually on the other app not even the normal ads work anymore with 2.0

    Has anyone encountered this problem...if you leave the Leaderboard Service field on the Cocoon plugin set to None and when you install it on your device, everything works perfectly. But, if you set it to Google Play Games, then it will get to the Ludei loading screen and just freeze (well, it just keeps flashing and flashing) and your game never loads.

    This has happened to me before, and after I reduced some of my image file sizes, it no longer would freeze on the Ludei screen. Does including Google Play Games increase your file size? What is everyone's install size on your phone for your app? Mine is about 30 mb, and I feel this may be high.

    Thats weird, not sure.

    I experienced similar problems because i had some plugins like Flurry had to remove it completly, so check if you have some non vanilla plugins which are not ready for the new cocoon yet. Check debug on cocoon launcher, maybe you get more info. When running on cocoon launcher, press the fps numbers on the top left corner.

    define a global constant or variable with text example: leader="fase7r934resr" (the id of the leaderboard in google)

    make a condition to check if the user is logged and submit score:

    if login succeed = set userloggedvar = 1

    if long failed = set userloggedvar = 0

    Example:

    if userloggedvar=1 - submit score of highscore to the leaderboard id leader

    Achievements:

    if userloggedvar=1 - submit achievement (in the achievement cocoon js pop up introduce the qWAERasdas id); set achieve1=1;

    achieve1=0

    On achievements be sure to trigger them once with a var and change that, otherwise it will submit continuously.

  • when you are loged in game services in google dev admin, on the left of your game name you will see your app social id.

    <h1>Game Name</h1> - and a 12-13 number id.

  • i will like to thank to all that made this possible but they are still lots of problems, for "some", "ludei" or whoever has the skills.

    Refresh Ad brings a blank white screen

    Flurry doesnt work anymore, the game freezes on start

    Anyway, i managed to get achievements and leaderboards working and for that i thank you very much, great work <3

    I still despise cocoon, epic loading times, horrible permissions, etc, but its good for now, better than nothing i guess.

    Also Ashely if you have time maybe give us a hand with this(when time permits), until we get a proper stable and performant compiler EJecta and Crosswalk.

  • The big question has got to be when is admob support coming?

    I tried the html iFrame leadbolt approach but the ads didn't fit the iFrame on phones. Not sure if this was due to pixel density or screen resolution or what the hell was going on because it worked perfect on my Sony Tablet Z but it obviously needs to be consistent across devices so I gave up.

    I recommend you to try further, from what i understand, Leadbot performs much better on interstitial ads than Admob.

  • i tested the latest 2 versions, and its promising, still no flawless performance i still get some hickups so i cant use it for my games yet, since they are very active, but with a few performance tweaks this could be very nice. GJ! Will wait for future versions, but already i am impressed, need better performance, proper landscape/portrait lock and after that in time google services and others, we have a winner.

    Yes Ashely, i am aware and thanks for that helpfull post. At the moment this in the stage of prototype, it wont be the same in alpha, just playing with the sizes and slices. Since its a world map, ill probably do a tiled background and continents as independent objects place on top of this tilebg. At the same time for extra detail, i could add some shapes to mimic the water levels. If i hit a wall on memory ill read more on the forums/sc blogs.
