This is definitely cool, and seems like a fun concept. I'm sure if the game consisted of some artwork it would make it even more appealing.

    Things to consider:

You should maybe add a short tutorial mode that runs the player through some steps. When I first started the game I didn't know what I was doing. I then saw the animation and realized first you use the mousewheel down to grab the gun and then the mousewheel up to take it out, load with right click hold, then fire with left click. Maybe in a tutorial mode you would have the players follow these direct steps.

Overall I think its a fun idea and hopefully your able to have it done in the next 5 days. BUT, consider a tutorial mode as people may skip your amazing idea just because they don't understand how to play, and also because its lacking in art.

I'm actually used to hanging out with people who are 20-30 years old than me, as my workplace is very diverse. Unless your below 17 then I can see why your uncomfortable.

I think it'd be pretty sweet to meet some C2 makers at a pub however, the downside being that London is really far from where I live.

That is beyond amazing! I'm surprised theres no comments on here.

  • My last post was a bit confusing so I thought I could simplify what I was asking.

Is there a way to set the size of the canvas, without altering the "Windows Size" project property?

As in changing the size of the canvas in game, without changing the size of the sprite objects in game.

I have tried the "set canvas size" action, and it only seems to do what I want it to do when the full screen mode is set to "off". I need it to work when fullscreen is set to "outter scale".

Any ideas? Maybe a plugin that could help me?

    Hey Pode,

it seems whenever I change layout with the drag and drop object, it doesn't get destroyed? Do you know how to fix this issue?

  • You can check the memory usage located at the bottom of Construct 2 to get a rough estimate of how much memory your using

  • I was wondering if there was a way to change the viewport of a game using an action. Such as press x, change viewport size to 200.

I tried using canvas size which works if your scaling is set to off, but I need my scaling set to outer scale. This is when the problem occurs.

When I set the scaling to outer scale and I change the canvas size, everything in the canvas is re-sized. This doesn't happen when the scaling is off.

Does anyone know another way of doing this? I mainly want to take a canvas snapshot of a sprite object in outer scale but can't because everything in the canvas is resized.

Oh I didn't realize it was such a big deal for small time apps/game, thanks for pointing that out.

And what contest was this? I was off the scirra forums for almost a month, could someone update me on the 100$ per app thing?

  • Dam, this looks like a beautiful game..

Post a short video of the gameplay when you have the time, I'd love to see it

  • BluePhaze

Nah no worries about licensing issues unless the app/game being created becomes a really successful spin off using a Nintendo character. Companies don't normally aim towards small developers like us in Scirra

  • A lot of them seem generic and similar to the example files in construct 2.

Why not work on just 1 title at a time and try to add your own twist to it?

  • 3d games aren't possible in construct, but 2.5D is. Something like a space harriar, mode7 or isometrics could imitate a fake 3D game.
