    Ludum Dare Homepage

    I've never entered Ludum Dare Competition nor Jam before, but I've always been a follower and supporter of the 48 hour challenge.

    At this moment submitting ideas for the Theme of the next competition & jam is open.

    For those familiar with Ludum Dare, basically, everyone can suggest themes, and they will open voting for themes, weeding out the plain and boring. Then when the theme is confirmed, you work on a complete game within 48 hours and submit it for judging. Judging is also by votes, and people who have submitted games can vote for other games.

    There is no physical prize, but you game gets featured on most indie game websites around the world, pretty much all the fame you need. Notable people like the creator of Minecraft, Notch, has made entries in past competitions.

    I urge all the members heres to try their luck when the competition opens on August 24th. I also would be very fond of a community effort game submitted to the Jam!

    I want to report that I discovered something pretty exploitable.

    Lets say you have a comment with 14 votes..

    And somebody just votes you up, and you have 15.

    You then gain 100 reputation points.

    After that, if they vote you down, you lose the badge, but you don't lose the reputation. Once it up votes again, you gain the badge, gain a 100 reputation points. Repeat.

    I discovered this while giving kemosabe 11k worth of reputation..

    So you might want to recount it xD

  • For Facebook games, in order to get your games played on most browsers, you'd need to buy an expensive trusted SSL certificate for where you're hosting your game. At this point, I think Kongregate and just the Scirra Arcade are the best platforms for your HTML5 games.

    Anyway I do love the graphics so far, especially the logo!

    The surf background kind of feels mismatched with the Javeh though.

  • You could try find an artist to work with you, if you can't, it's always good to try be independent.

    The graphics are the only thing that I don't really like.

  • Yes, I have that delay when my game pauses music too, I'm using Ogg files.
