Ludum Dare 24

Hey everyone!

I've never entered Ludum Dare Competition nor Jam before, but I've always been a follower and supporter of the 48 hour challenge.

At this moment submitting ideas for the Theme of the next competition & jam is open.

For those familiar with Ludum Dare, basically, everyone can suggest themes, and they will open voting for themes, weeding out the plain and boring. Then when the theme is confirmed, you work on a complete game within 48 hours and submit it for judging. Judging is also by votes, and people who have submitted games can vote for other games.

There is no physical prize, but you game gets featured on most indie game websites around the world, pretty much all the fame you need. Notable people like the creator of Minecraft, Notch, has made entries in past competitions.

I urge all the members heres to try their luck when the competition opens on August 24th. I also would be very fond of a community effort game submitted to the Jam!

Check out the website, when the competition starts in august you need an account and you need to check for the theme of the games. :)

I might join this time. I tried for 23 but way over complicated my idea and didnt get any where NEAR finished in time

I was going to join in the last one, but ran out of time and decided I wouldn't manage to get anything good done by the deadline. This time I'm doing it, regardless of the expected end result. It should be fun.

Awesome, I'm planning on doing something simple, just for the fun :)

I gave the gamejolt one a go, but might not be so free for ludum dare after all :(

This ludum dare is also the opportunity for a contest hosted by Kongregate.

Wow. That's pretty awesome. This will be the first Ludum Dare with a cash prize then.

Are you allowed to use Construct 2 for this contest?

I'm pretty sure you need to link to both. The exported one for people to play, and the capx to follow the rule of making the source available to anyone.
