  • I wouldn't count on making big bucks from anything made with Construct 2 at the moment. Especially not when pubing out your game on sites like kongregate for ad money. Monetization other than this is also an issue at the moment.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Make a on tick event, which checks if the3Dbox.x is within the range of say 10-20 and if it is, set it to frame 2 and so on?

A trickier but easier way could be to use a more complicated equation like taking 80 and multiplying it by 10 (assuming your screen is 800px) so that you can plan each 10 pixels to change the frame by 1. So make an on every tick eent which sets the frame of the animation to say.. floor(the3Dbox.x /10)?

  • Hey, I know for sure that this isn't the first side scrolling platform game here. So the title is pretty misleading.

Maybe you meant to call it "My first side scrolling platformer game"?

  • Global Variables :)

  • You have two question ones.

So for the first question 1, I'd say numerical values such as health, score, ammo etc.

For the second question 1, not really, the .EXE exported games are just like custom browsers wrapping your HTML5 game. So code-wise it's the same.

  • It's really simple, but good visuals and nice overall presentation of the simple game idea.

    Good job!

  • I'd also like this, for my last game I had to do this with events.

  • Graphics hurts my eyes a little, especially that pixelated transition.

Interesting and weird concept you got though!

The camera shouldn't put ButterBalls right at the bottom though, would be good if I could see what was below me before I jumped or dropped into it!

  • The homemade sounds are a little annoying.. but other than that, not bad. Very simple gameplay. Would be much more fun with more interesting shooting mechanics, like those drag and release controls seen in some flash games!

  • Kongregate is in my opinion the best way to get your HTML5 game out at the moment. They have a larger player base compared to any other HTML5 game supporting sites. My Scirra Arcade game got about 5000 views in the past 3 weeks? I figure that's pretty good too.

  • You can record your entire screen or portions of it with Camtasia.

This is normally used by people making video tutorials.

Also, Fraps can only record your EXE exported games.

Since this is the C2 section, I'm guessing you mean to record a C2 game.

  • Facebook won't get you much plays unless you spend a lot on ad money.
