Kongregate vs Facebook vs Other media

Hello all

Last night i placed my first game on kongregate.com so far i have had 130 plays and counting! Exciting stuff, well for me anyway! Now i need help or suggestions on where i should go next. I was planning to put it on facebook but once i saw the kongregate exclusive option it got me thinking. So really i want anybodys input on either suggestions or advice on where or what i should do. What results does facebook games usually get from past experiance? Also anouther question is the whole tax buisness on kongregate? I'm from the UK so has anyone had any experiance with being payed on kongregate when living in the UK?

Facebook won't get you much plays unless you spend a lot on ad money.

Ah right. So is it my best bet to make my game a kongregate exclusive? Or is there any other good places for html5 games?

I would take the opposite approach and go for as many as is feasible--let your players decide where they want to play it.

I did initially try html5games.com but never got an email back amd my game was never added to their site. I've been looking around but can't find anywhere. Any suggestions would be great!

Kongregate is in my opinion the best way to get your HTML5 game out at the moment. They have a larger player base compared to any other HTML5 game supporting sites. My Scirra Arcade game got about 5000 views in the past 3 weeks? I figure that's pretty good too.

Kongregate will not get you that much money, however. I think I have around 5000 plays, and $2.

Difficult market at the moment. I think at first with my first game its more of a way to market my forums. Rather then making a pretty penny. Things haven't gone smoothly so far. A big bug is being experianced by nearly everyone when you loose a battle your unable to play again. Shame no one experianced this before i put it up. Oh well i'll try to fix that tonight. The joys of making games :p. I think i'll take your advice and go with just kongregate for now. Thanks for the help everyone!

I wouldn't count on making big bucks from anything made with Construct 2 at the moment. Especially not when pubing out your game on sites like kongregate for ad money. Monetization other than this is also an issue at the moment.
