  • Try and go from a different direction. You can select a tile by coordinates if I remember correctly. So try selecting a tile from the X,Y of the sprite then check to see what tile it is set to.

    I've been trying to get my head around this for days but I can't seem to find a way to make it happen as you cannot disable local input prediction once it's on.

    Basically in my game you join the game in a lobby. When the game starts the players spawn at spawn points. Although with local input prediction on the local player tried to match up with the server and it ends up dragging the player across the screen to the spawn point.

    Which means the player gets stuck on solid objects and breaks their ability to move their character.

    I've tried to destroy the character rather then move it (quite a headache to implement now) but still does the same affect.

    I've tried to send a message to the peer to set the player position but still doesn't work.

    Is their a way to disable the local input prediction once enabled or a sure fire way I can move the player from one location to another for both host and peer?

    Has anyone got any ideas, experienced this or know of a way around this. Surely I'm not the first person to try making spawn points with local input prediction on?

    Any help is much appreciated.

  • Hi Purpletree! What I have done is integrated an ad network called adf.ly which will allow players to view a website for 5 seconds to be able to play your game. When adding your games you are able to add your adf.ly id to the game so you will earn 100% of your games players. I don't make anything from the site other then what I do from my own games. I built the site for my own reasons while expanding it out so everyone can use it. My intentions was to create something that I want as a game developer as no other site out there has it.

    As an indie developer who use's construct 2. I found a problem. I only release my construct 2 games on android as that's where I have had most of my success. As i'm earning money from advertising on my android games, It feels wrong to release it on the web on lets say itch.io without ad's and instead ask for donations (which will guarantee you less earnings). Then there's other sites that earn you a percentage from your games views. So I decided that an arcade was needed to be made for developers by a developer.

    So I decided to do just that.

    I might be very blind but i can't seem to find out if this is even possible. I've tried using the plugin shared on github and wasn't able to even run a complied version of my game. Has anyone else had any luck with this and would like to shed some light on this then that would be great!

    So first let me explain my position.

    70.5k requests

    39k impressions

    This includes fullscreen and banner ads. In comparison a few years back i achieved on a chain of websites 40k impressions and earned £400 from adsense with just a banner ad. At the moment i've earned $25 on mopub with the same amount of impressions. So im in a position to think i'm earning a fraction of what i should be right now. Has anyone had any experiance with mopub and low earnings, more importantly has anyone turned it around? Thanks

  • I gave up in the end, after fixing this problem i just ran into problem after problem and never got to building a fully working windows 10 export.

  • After a lot of research and time. I deleted all the files and built again. This time it works! The only things i did differently to the project without deleting all the files first before building again in construct 2 was making sure the version was 1.0.0.0 before i built for windows store. Also I had installed the latest windows software development kit. Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same problem.

    I'm not entirely stupid i've read through the windows 10 exports from multiple users, even using the latest construct 2 beta. My windows 10 setting is in developer mode and I go to load my game with visual studio 2015. In one tutorial it mentions to edit the manifest first and from what i can tell you need to change the application id from com.company.app to something else which isn't explained by anything or anyone...

    Anyway following the official tutorial none of that is mentioned. So putting that to one side i get to the point of run local machine.

    I get this error:

    So i've been looking into using crosswalk for my next game. Used cocoonjs up till now but as this option has now been dropped i'm forced to try crosswalk. I want to continue using mopub as i was banned from adsense years ago without a reason. Any ideas?

  • Fantastic program brought last night and using in my next game. Animation is the one thing that puts me off of 2d games. Saying that i also dislike animating 3D with bones. This is the perfect mix of the uses of bones but for 2D and then making the animation process extremely easy. On top of that the integration into construct 2 really will change the games you'll see being made with construct 2. Also does anyone know how IK's are implemented, i'm only familiar with IK's in 3d and don't see how this will work for 2D.

    I've recently been working on a huge project in a different engine, which you can find more details in my sig. Unfortunately i've run out of steam with that project. It does what its supposed to do but it's not hugely fun. Inspiration has dried up for now.

    So recently i jumped back onto construct 2 and have already started my next project. I'd rather not share my ideas publicly at this stage.
