  • I know, after talking to a few players on kongregate they get a message on firefox saying it want's to save data. They did not like this and said they would avoid such games that would do this. After all who is going to play a kongregate game offline? It might be more bandwidth for me but oh well i still wish to do this.

  • Been looking everywhere but can't seem to see this question asked? Maybe it's simple but i can't seem to figure it out.

  • Difficult market at the moment. I think at first with my first game its more of a way to market my forums. Rather then making a pretty penny. Things haven't gone smoothly so far. A big bug is being experianced by nearly everyone when you loose a battle your unable to play again. Shame no one experianced this before i put it up. Oh well i'll try to fix that tonight. The joys of making games :p. I think i'll take your advice and go with just kongregate for now. Thanks for the help everyone!

  • I did initially try html5games.com but never got an email back amd my game was never added to their site. I've been looking around but can't find anywhere. Any suggestions would be great!

    Cheers

  • Ah right. So is it my best bet to make my game a kongregate exclusive? Or is there any other good places for html5 games?

  • Hello all

Last night i placed my first game on kongregate.com so far i have had 130 plays and counting! Exciting stuff, well for me anyway! Now i need help or suggestions on where i should go next. I was planning to put it on facebook but once i saw the kongregate exclusive option it got me thinking. So really i want anybodys input on either suggestions or advice on where or what i should do. What results does facebook games usually get from past experiance? Also anouther question is the whole tax buisness on kongregate? I'm from the UK so has anyone had any experiance with being payed on kongregate when living in the UK?

    Cheers

  • Cheers wink! I'm glad you enjoyed playing it! This has been a great first project as i've really been able to find out just how powerful construct 2 and html5 is! Shockingly powerful! Oh and for the mechanics. Many ideas have been poping in my head. How does a total war styled game sound? Where you fight in your own battles. Either way got many plans hopefully i'll get some done!

  • Cheers for the comments and suggestions! I'm glad you like the gameplay! Yeah as my first release I kept the animations and graphics simple. The style is a bit of a mix up I agree, I think I may have to re-think it out. Animations is something I may improve. After all this is my first attempt at a 2d game. Cheers

  • Hello everyone!

I have been with you now for a fair few weeks and I'm finally proud to present to you my first game!

Stickman vietnam is a war game like no other! Get yourself into the brink of battle as you defend yourself from the onslaught of Vietnamese soldiers. Action packed and fast paced though WARNING there is an excessive amount of gore. Not recommended for anyone under 16.

As this is my first release I'm classing it as a beta release. As I need the game tested and then some feedback before releasing it onto the arcade and on facebook.

I have a beta testing thread for your feedback here:

    Gamefreaks1234.com

    Heres a video:

The game can be played here:

Really excited and can't wait to hear your feedback.

    Thank you.

  • Wow ouch. How can you find it frustrating? I've coded in many languages and i love coding. Which is why i love construct 2. It saves so much time and it is a pleasure to work with. Get the same thing done as code as to me it is code. Just layed out in an easy to read way. Its clean and easy to follow. I'm yet to find a limitation within the coding. I could only begin to imagine the hell it must have been to code togeather. I gotta give it to them, incredible!

  • Fully agree with talinthor, theif was a great idea no dout about it! Though half-life holds the key. Story telling within a game. A great story puts you into the game. I find that games went backwards with story telling. After all story telling is what made final fantasy so popular. The campaigns these days are run here, get shot at, kill them and repeat it all again. Once that mission is over get some cutscene which makes no sense then do it all again. Or it seems that way to me. Half-life had you hooked from the word go. Sitting on the train with all the credits watching all different things happen. Like the copper trying to get in a door but can't find his keys. Then on half-life blue shift expansion you seedr freeman go past on the trian and you are the copper trying to get in the door! Anouther great game which had it spot on then went down hill was vietcong! Damn that was amazing. You start off on a helicopter the copter lands on the base you then have to get weapons training talk to others on base. After each mission you end up on base at the end. Eventually you have to defend the base from a massive attack. It made you feel as if you were there, something you don't get now. Ofcoarse though they made a vietcong expantion with a whole new story... Well i mean mission, cutscene, mission then cutscene. Then same again in vietcong 2. So yeah the key for me is making you feel like you are there not just along for the ride. I'll shut up now lol. Though serously if you haven't played a game like that try getting a copy of vietcong the original.

  • I tried unity... Far too much to learn, 3d rad is the engine i've used for the past year. I've worked hard in 3d rad and learnt a lot. I truly am a fan of 3d rad. Though my main problem is work load and recently the forums for 3d rad have been down. I have 2 games i have been working on for a long time. They both have a long way to go yet. My girlfriend turned round and said i want to make a game but a 2d one. So i went searching for a game engine. I didn't actually find one until i remembered a member posted something they made in construct 2 on the 3d rad forums. We both tried it and have both brought a license! Since finding it i have almost finished my first game! I have to say construct 2 is made perfectly. The design, the layout, the idea and coding is perfect. I have to say i am incredibly impressed and will be putting my 3d projects on hold for sometime.

  • Well you can do it in events but it will flip your imagepoints. So i would have to say anouther animation or different imagepoints are your only options.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • On my phone so cannot look at the capx. Have you tryed flipping the image in edit animations?

  • Lol how embarrasing. Talk about sods law. Just emailed them came back here clicked on your medal which took me to the store and then i noticed my purchases... Which says when i clicked it claim license! Sorry for wasting your time thanks for the quick reply though. Much appreciated!
