  • I reported this issue and they fixed it. Don't be lazy report the bugs

I see ur smiley but just FYI I've reported plenty of bugs. But it is a question of priorities. I have a couple of hours on weekend to work on my game. Those hours could easily be eaten up by writing bug reports. So the question is do I spend the time to make test files and write bug reports or do I work on my game. Generally if it blocking my progress I will report it otherwise I have to crack on with my game , working around whatever issue and pray that someone else reports it.

  • I thought they addressed this in an earlier release. It may be related to the fact that on Chrome for me alpha 1 looks like alpha 32 or so, so it's impossible to get smooth lighting effects and it VGAs up all the colors.

    Maybe raise as a bug.

There is definitely a lot of strangeness and instability going on in the sprite editor to the point where Im pretty much avoiding using it for now.

I really hope scirra make enough to get a full time tester in at some stage to really test things especially like the editor.

I must have come across 100 little issues with the editor but I just dont have the time or energy to raise them all in bug reporting

edit. looks like there is a fair fiew updates to the sprite editor inthe new beta

  • This is how i've always saved my work. Never had any issues now c3 won't save.

Project > save as > download a copy. It reaches 100% then the box just disappears and thats it, no new file.

What can the problem be? Tried restarting computer and chrome, still the same.

    Thanks.

just an idea. Since the new chrome update (i think or is it construct?) , after the download completes to 100% there is now another pop up box asking you where you want to save. (even though I do not have that option checked in chrome advanced settings)

If you dont confirm the save it scraps the downloaded file. maybe you are missing or blocking the save as dialog somehow.

I hope I can change it back to the old way downloading the copy with auto number suffix as it was much safer.

Are they not just different resolutions?

The one on the right is very low res by the looks of it.

edit - ahh something about alpha edges in the beta update

  • Nice,

  • I work 10 + hours a day on my XP-Pen Artist22E graphics tablet amazon.com/dp/B01M9EURM1 . I've been using graphics tablets for over 8 years. I absolutely need one because i paint/draw for a living and these days people need things done fast soo digital is the way to go.

I've been using XP-Pen tablets for all this time. I wouldnt recommend ANY other brand but wacom for graphics tablets. They are the best. I currently use a Medium size XP-Pen Artist22E .

For just scribbling notes and doing minor photo touch ups I would recommend either a Small XP-Pen Star05 ( which cost about 70$ Canadian) more or less.

    Hi jieshi

can I ask what spec computer you are using with XP-Pen Artist22E.

    What is the lag like,

and what software you are using?

As per above. I think this is a pretty short sighted limitation.

It means that new suggestions will have less access to votes, if any, once the general user base has used up their votes. And due to the nature of software development those votes will remain "locked" and thus useless for months , even years. It also means users are less likely to return as they know they have no votes left.

(It is not as if users will keep re-visiting to shift around their votes).

Would be far better to unlock voting.

And have a max of one vote per user per suggestion.

Then you would really see what people are interested in.

  • I think Ive said it before, but there was a point in my game development were one small feature in C3 literally enabled me to continue game development that in C2 would have been near impossible or at least frustrating enough for me to quit.

That was the point in my project where the number of events became bigger than my ability to remember what those events were doing and where they were.

So the C3 game changer for me is the humble search/find functionality.

The ability to instantly see all the events that use a certain variable, or sprite , or function call etc, even if they are spread across multiple event sheets, is the most useful new tool that C3 offers IMO. Everything else is icing on the cake.

  • This sort of thing is covered extensivly in manual, tutorials, game demos and probably a few hundred posts on this forum. Go have a rummage you should find everything you need.

  • Guys Im just posting here as it looks like not to many visit the suggestions forum except maybe those posting suggestions.

but if you vote on things there they are more likely to get implemented.

Ive just put a couple of things in that are causing me, and maybe you, a little annoyance....

"Please lock the Browser zoom when cursor is over a Layout View Window"

I have lost count of the amount of times I have control + mouse wheeled when in Layout view and zoomed the browser to +-1000% or whatever because I assume i haven't clicked in the layout window first

"Please show, or have an option to show, the bounding box of all objects in a Layout"

I have 30 sprite objects in my layout view that have a blank first frame, or are the same colour as background or text sprite objects that have no text in them until run time but I cant see any of them in the layout. They are all hidden because I cannot see their bounding boxes. Showing collision boxes does not help in many instances and not at all for sprite font boxes.

"Desperately need to see the brush shape and size in the sprite editor"

This should be day 1 feature of the editor.

I have no idea what pixels I am going to effect as I cannot see the brush

(also drawing lags behind the cursor by one pixel please sort)

    I understand

My point was they need to start seeing a lot of popular, high quality games in HTML/JS to be convinced it is worthwhile for them to do so.

Also it would definitely have to be some sort of custom secure closed implementation as they need to keep the whole browser side of things closed down for games . because if you can use your switch to play high quality games in the browser then why would you bother spending money in the Nintendo store.

The possibility of high quality HTML/JS games scares the hell out of the big game companies.

I mean I can load up my game on my Nvidia shield by just pointing chrome to the webpage and with the tegra hardware (pretty much the same a switch) it plays better than on my PC.
