  • Some really great entries that were fun to play! Amazing work everyone

I actually made a point of this on facebook as well. Why did Rikoshe put rules to follow if they won't follow them as well? The 8th place game was posted on the 4th of april, breaking one of the rules and yet it still got in the top 10.Don't get me wrong the game deserves it,but if it won't follow the rules won't that be a bad example for the next jam ?

We considered late entries as a rubric violation, similar to rules that you'd find on a university paper or exam; each game was given a score based on relevance, graphics, gameplay and originality, and deductions were made for rubric violations - whilst these deductions were quite severe, there were several games that were good enough that even with these deductions, the overall score was still high enough to win a place in the top 10.

We'd like to think that going forward, third party businesses taking interest in Construct 2 would be seen as a good thing

  • Okay guys, I'm not going to say the day in case I jynx it, but it's very soon. The delay was caused by marketing clash between our two timelines, but when you see what's in store, it'll be well worth it, and we're not just talking about the game jam!

  • Hi guys, to be as clear as possible, we handed the announcement over to Scirra's third party marketing team on the 21st - and they have assured us that the announcement will be published at the earliest convenience.

I can completely understand your frustrations; and I can only apologise.

  • Hi guys,

The announcement has been handed over to Scirra's marketing team - and should hopefully appear soon!

  • Hi guys,

Massive lack of professionalism onmy part, as previously stated I work for Rikoshe as a consultant and I didn't consider the fact that the results announcement ties into a larger marketing timeline.

The results will be announced as soon as possible, and the moment I know, you will too.

  • Hi guys,

The winners have been chosen and everything has been sent off - all we're waiting for now is it to be pushed to the website.

    Apologies for the delay.

  • Try Construct 3

  • As a pre-emptive announcement, our update server went down at the weekend, we're working on fixing it, but this may cause a delay.

In all honesty it should be fixed before this Friday, but just in case!

  • We'll be announcing the results on April 15th.

  • Not even close! I've played about 20!

The jam is being judged by myself, a consultant from the UK; and Suvi, the company director from the US. Due to timezone differences we'll need to get to work out a time to judge these fairly, as well as play at our own speed. After that we'll post the announcement - as we both work full time jobs in addition to Rikoshe (which in it's own right is a 40 hour week+ job!), I'd put next weekend as a soft estimate.

  • There are 20 total winners, the 10 best game jam entries, and 10 randomly selected social media/competition entrants.

Luckily it's significantly easier to pick 10 people at random!

  • A quick update - I'm currently playing through all the games along with the company director. Due to the logistics of not only playing 80+ games, deciding 10 winners and then contacting them, and then distributing prizes, I'm not confident on giving a firm announcement date, though rest assured, it will be soon.

  • Thank you guys for all your entries - we can't wait to start judging (and playing) them soon!
