submit a bug report if you're having trouble.

I already did when someone else posted it. Still can't log in. Don't worry about it though. I don't plan on using it much at all.

I still think it's hilarious that I can't log in to the browser app. Always says unable to yada yada. I even cleared my cache several times since day 1, created a new password on the forum to use, and it still won't let me log in. "Serious" developers want to log in, amirite?

  • Is there no window for picking colors on android? And if not why allow sprite editing to begin with if you can only use black and white?

I mentioned to Ashley that you can't select the paint icon when not in full-screen mode on Android, and also that the color picker doesn't show up when you select the paint bucket. I never got a response though, not that I've seen anyway. I try not to be around as much now.

    Microsoft Construct. There's your roadmap.

I spent a year learning Construct a few years back because it advertised "no programming," and I didn't want to learn programming. And then I noticed most of the games I was creating looked like everyone else's, a pack of clones and mobile-looking derivatives. I learned to program. Now I don't use Construct.

Scirra spent years taking C2 and putting it in a browser and equipping it with some features they weren't able to put into C2. I had high hopes for the engine. Maybe it would be something fresh and evolved from C2 with more power. No, it's C2, in a browser. It targets devs who make browser games and probably the education market for teachers to show kids how to make games without programming.

Then, they'll probably sell to the highest bidder. I would. They might not, but I've used a lot of programs over the years that are now owned by a different entity.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • The good thing about the Construct platform is it's easy to come back to after not using it for a while and be able to use it again without many problems. I can see it being easy for C3 as well.

Right now I'm going to reduce my post count on the forum as I don't plan on using this browser engine much at all, so there's no need to give my opinion about anything anymore. But if I ever need to use it, it's easy to pick up and go. I had higher hopes for C3, and I think one day a browser engine might catch on and it'll be easy to export to every platform as easy as it is with other engines. For now, much respect for the direction these guys are taking it. But it's just not for me.

Congrats on a successful launch and future!

  • I do think Visionaire's workflow is much friendlier for 2D point and click adventures.

I'm starting to agree with you. I looked into it some more and have downloaded, but have yet to try, Visionaire 5. It could really be a nice way to make a 2D point and click adventure. I may have to do a test on my own time with it for fun and see if anything comes of it. Thanks for mentioning it.

  • Haha yeah the UI is a bit outdated for Adventure Creator. I've never looked at Visionaire Studio myself. Guess I'll be heading that way now, but Lua... I dunno know about that.

After checking it out, it seems it's really only suited for 2D and 2.5D games, not 3D. Looking at the wiki didn't give me any faith that 3D works very well, or at least it's limiting. Yet another reason to stay with Unity since it handles everything with an easy pipeline.

  • Why do you have a 24-minute video when the tutorial ends at the 12-minute mark?

  • That's a good question actually. I think they just want to move on to their new "tech" since they can build it around their own exporting system rather than try to do some cumbersome half-rewrite of C2 to add that functionality. Maybe, I dunno really. I was on board with the subscription until testing it out. Now I can't justify it at the moment. The browser engine tech is pretty cool in its own right, and I could see it in 10 years being a lot more advanced. But in the end, it's still HTML5. Their target audience is clear, and Newgrounds makes the perfect match for this engine. Outside of that, wrapper heaven is not gonna cut it.

  • Leaving me still developing in unity.

That makes you smart, trust me. C3 will be good for what it's intended to be. I think the only way I'd use Construct for our large projects would be if it had an event system plug-in for Unity. I like events. They're fun. But I like C# more.

  • Dark theme for the win!

  • Lets just not bash the developers away from the development of construct engine

instead providing feedback and replies should be more then enough

I've put in several bug reports already. I think this thread is on topic, giving first impressions and talking about the bugs and overall feel for the engine so far. I don't see much bashing.

all are futures depend on it in some way

My future doesn't depend on Construct 3 in any way, and I'm pretty sure it's not life-altering for anyone else either. Seems an exaggerated statement.
