  • This is really nice!

Im not the one who has suggestions but i liked to play it!

  • Demo has got a little update.

    I updated the cars collision.

Cars now only slow down when colliding, but dont get knocked out of the way.

This enshures the player to be able to have a fun race where he can maintain top speeds when he learned to control the car.

When Computer players slow down a bit when u hit use it as an advantage.

Having full on collisions is one thing, But having fun while racing is the best thing to achieve.

  • I managed to pass around the problem by not using the textbox for the lap input.

I did some research, and found that when the variable was set to (system --> set laps to Textbox.text) and the game started, that only then the keyboard did not react anymore.

When the variable was set through system --> set laps to 3, and the race started everything worked.

Strange but not a problem anymore.

    Thanx for your help.

  • Hi

I installed R82 and for some reason the keyboard works fine in the menu, but when i start the race the keyboard has no input anymore?

    U can try the CapX

    The race controls are

    R = Acceleration

    Space = Brakes

    Arrow Left =Left

    Arrow Right = Right

C = Camera to follow other players

    P = Helicopter View

I could swich back to R80.2

But if there is a work around then i like to try that first.

    Thanx for the help!

  • Colour it certainly needs!

    And plenty of it <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

When im done coding im going to dive into the graphics.

Thanx for the tip on that qster.

And nice that it works for u now.

  • Thank u both jardelbr & gillenew

Its good to see that its appriciated.

gillenew if your 2 questionmarks imply u want to know how it was made, then u can find a capx on page 1 of this forum post.

Thanx for playing and sharing your thoughts!

  • Thanx! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Nice to know u had no fps issues.

In this new update i have got an even better fps.

I fixed some bugs that where crawling in the code <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    qster

I updated the menu to be more logical.

The start button is possitioned near the side of the set laps input box.

So, input the laps, press start and off u go.

The day and night is also added to the menu.

Hope it works for u this time around.

  • Yep it helps!

Im changing things now and upload the update soon.

    Il report back.

    Thanx for your patience

  • qster

    Which browser are u using?

    It is a chrome game.

Il wil make an updated version in a few hours.

The save and load should work.

However you would only notice the change when u drive the car.

So i gues i need to put some more effort in the useage of the menu.

    Il work on that now

Have u pushed the start button after clicking ok in the laps input section?

  • qster & Dado

My gues is that u pushed the start button without first inputting how many laps u want to race.

There is a little system message that explains this when u push the start button.

But i gues i have to make it bigger.

    Hover the menu.

Input how many laps u want, press ok, then start.

Please let me know if it worked for u now.

  • SoldjahBoy

    Thanx!

Im still working on the framerate, trying to get the best out of it.

The Ai is pretty massive for my standarts.

And its not even done yet.

I used the basics that Pode and Yann discribed on the forum.

I got it from their capx.

Then altered it somewhat to do what it does now.

In their capx the bullit behaviour is used.

In F1 Racing the Ai and the player both use the car behaviour.

From there on out i build in my own AI functionalities.

    Question:

On what kind of Pc are u playing?

Im curious, because if yours is faster then mine im not shure where the framerate drop comes from.

If its the other way arround then im not supprised u get frame loss.

  • Hey Pode

For the game im building im using the waypoint system U and Yann shared on the forum.

I modified allot since i have it and the behaviour has become rather unpredictable "in a good way" as it is also my goal to achieve a more realistic feel to the Ai driving.

One part was done in the targets themselves and the other part in the cars behaviour.

As a basics the game im building uses the car behaviour for Ai control, and the cars have gears and other things.

If u would like to take a look at it, u can do that Here

If u are interested in the Capx just let me know <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle">

Thanx for sharing the waypoint system as it is really something!

Im looking forward to your top down racer!
