  • Hi, you should try the Spriter forums, maybe than can help you.

Edit: Also, with the Spriter Plugin you don`t even need to export the animation to images, just use your SCML on Construct2.

  • I use Construct for a long time, since Construct Classic actually, and I would love some improvements on the IDE. The engine is awesome as it is, of course new features are always useful and fun, but if Scirra decides to make a new IDE that is more friendly dor the developers, I will be 100% supportive of that.

  • I also managed to finish my game for the Compo. I am very pleased with the results, please, if possible, rate and comment. As soon as I get home I`ll play the other games on this topic <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">.

  • Tetriser Thanks. Well, I have no ideas, except for the basic ones, multiple balls, balls that pierce through blocks, change the pad size, let the pad shoot, etc.

  • eli0s I think that would be resolved by putting a "tileable"checkbox, so, if it`s tileable it would ignore the collision polygon and just use the bounding box, etc.

This would resolve shinkan problem also, because the pixels will be tiled, not stretched, as in regular sprites.

  • How about merging the two object types, and maybe change the name so people new to Construct would understand that it may be usable both for Sprites as for Tiled Backgrounds?

I think that is a more elegant solution than keep a redundant object, although it will take a lot of work, because all of the learning material use Sprites and Tiled Backgrounds as very different plugins(as they really are today).

I don`t know, something like "Animated Image", or "Tileable Sprite"...

  • This I will be my second Ludum Dare, I am very excited about it. I am expecting to learn a lot of new skills and have fun doing it.

As a costumer, a rather pay more for a plugin that I know will have long lasting support (as Spriter, or a lot of tools on the Unity Asset Store), than pay 5 bucks for a simple plugin that will not be long supported. I think that the freedom to set their own prices is better for the seller and for the buyer.

Plugins and tools add much more value than assets, because they offer a change in workflow and on the toolset at your disposal. I bought some beefy priced editor plugins on the Unity asset store, but I feel like they added value to the software, and that way, the creators see like the time investment is worth it and they can keep make high quality addons.

I am looking forward for the time when the store is full of amazing workflow tools and resources, the graphical assets and such are ok, but I won`t use them.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. And sorry for my "engrish", it is not my mother language.

  • I do. Tetriser, you should take a look on a game called Wizorb by Tribute games, it`s on Steam. On that game you have a story and boss battles. The game have a lot of interesting mechanics and power ups, and it`s an awesome old school game.

I made a variation on the breakout the some weeks ago, I made it on a weekend and it`s pretty simple, here is a link if you would like to take a look:

It`s the same basic theme, but the blocks are in te center and you have multiple pads circling around the blocks.

  • I loved A, it would be even more amazing with a red bowtie.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Tobye On Kongregate you can use a min and a max size, it worked for another of my games, that game used Scale Outer, but when viewed in a smaller resolution the graphics would be smaller, and reveal more or less of the world depending on the aspect ratio, of course, for that you need to prepare your layout for using that.

Before testing the game, I was fearing that the sprites wold be tiny, because the original resolution of the pixel art character was 16x16, but it worked flawlessly on Newgrounds, Kongregate and on mobile.

That case was different, because Construct was scaling up the graphics. I never test it in my own site, so I don't know about that, sorry.

  • This is awesome, I will for sure put it in all my games from now on. And even update new ones to use it.

I am waiting for the High Scores Board, I know it depends on the other API to be further developed.
