  • I'm more of a designer than anything else so could just be me but...

    I would actually go one further and say Research and Development come before everything above.

    Once you know who you are making it for, where it's going be played and read up on on games with even the most tenuous of links your going to be able to come up with mechanics that people will want to engage with.

    Unless your making a game for yourself you're going to want other's to play it so make a game that they will play.

  • I love handhelds and normally the first to buy these things (I bought a gizmondo and the neo geo pocket colour) but not even I can see this taking off. ?250-300 to play mobile games?

    I have a Vita collecting dust. I hate the thing and wish I never bought it; it's just a rather expensive ps1 emulator, however, after hearing about Nvidia Shield it doesn't seem like such a waste of money.

  • Awesome use of shaders and was this based on the bouncing ball example by any chance? Highly creative.

  • There is a video plugin but I just needed to play the video off of youtube so i used the Iframe plugin. I'm was able to take the link to a youtube video and then use as the iframe url to play the video in the iframe, my broswer plays it through the VLC addon

  • In events under System you have an option to set group active, deactivate the group from there.

    Post a capx, it's easier for poeple to grasp what you are trying to do and you will get the answers you're looking for quicker.

  • 1)Yes but it has to be imported into a worksheet that is attached to that layout (see manual)

    2)You assign the function first and give it a name.

    e.g. On mouse click call function "ShowMessage"

    Then you have to say what that function does so you call a function (in this case "ShowMessage" and tell it what you want it to do.

  • Depending on your game you could change your control scheme so the player has to highlight what they are trying to move before they move it. You could then use to detect which player is which.

  • If this A-Sync/Realtime then you will want to use websockets/node.js or your never going to pass data quick enough between players.

    If its turn based or you dont need to refresh the data too much you're probs best storing the data in a database and then using Ajax/PHP or something to fetch it saving it all locally to an array and playing out everything from that instead.

  • The Nvidia tegra3 chip can be found in a range of cheap tablets.

    I picked up a HannsG tablet, flashed it, got jellybean and flash installed all for under ?140 about 1 1/2 ago.

  • Well done Scirra, great to see you guys get onto Steam.

    How will you guys be handling releases on steam? You going to have an opt in beta? Or will it be for final releases only.

    Also any plans to intergrate further, steam workshop for example.

  • Any suggestions on how to achieve this already are welcome.

    It would be nice to have a layer that you can draw notes onto. Mark areas on/off the canvas.

    I can't find a way to annotate anything in the layout. Nothing complex a pen,straight line and a choice of colours will do.

    It would also be nice to be able to choose from a blank layer or a grid, as unless I'm missing something (although you can turn on snapping) there is no way to actually show a grid in the layout.
