  • Thanks, ASHLEY.

Can I PM the file? It's a project I've been working on a few months, and would rather not post a link to it on the forum.

I can confirm it's happening every time. Line 145 seems to be the culprit.

  • Sorry, I should have said... the highlighted line, when disabled, allows the game to work fine.

  • Hi Ashley & Tom,

I'm afraid I'm unable to replicate this error on a smaller scale.

    I'm seeing the below:

    <img src="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/50465867/Errors/layoutjserror.jpg" border="0" />

It happens when the game calls a level change on a certain level, when a certain object is on the layout. I have located the line which will stop the glitch, but it doesn't seem to help me. I was able to use it perfectly fine in the previous stable version r95.

I'm afraid it goes against your request for bug reports, but my game has over 150 events, and an awful lot of objects. I've tried cutting the project down, but it keeps having the message saying that all objects need to appear on one layout. Which I'm struggling to figure out.

Seeing as I've been able to locate the line with the error, might I be able to send you the full project to have a look at, or would you rather I hack and slash the project until I get it down to a more acceptable size?

In either case, how would you like me to send it?

  • Can you confirm what is meant by "job distance?" Might lerp be what you are looking for? It eases an objects movement in and out.

  • D'oh! Stupid me!

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi All,

    I'm doing this tutorial...

but I can't see where to add the set parent event. Everything else is going well.

I'm in my particle object, but cannot see the set parent line anywhere... :(

    Help please!

I'll post screen shots if necessary.

  • Corr! Really? I built my own method for doing this so I can do it with a mouse too, but I'm still on the last stable 95. Really looking forward to the next stable so I can move my project onto the next level!!!

  • ...but "Hi" anyway! And Welcome!

  • Yeah, definitely don't blame them! It's a shame though. I feel I missed out. Oh well!

  • Corr! That's a bit of a shame. It'll cost around 70 as a one off fee for Greenlight now. Apparently it's to stop hoaxes, sexual content, etc.

    Should have got in early!

    Doh...

  • legora

Yep, thanks to these guys I managed it. In the end I had the time count everything in miliseconds, and then convert this to M:S:MS.

If I remember, I'l post a cap when I get back from work. Feel free to poke me...

  • Ahh,

I think I understand. So effectively, the room is a solid sprite, but because it has 2 doors it needs 2 collision polygons, which you can't do.

What I would do is have the room sprite built in two halves, and give each half its own collision polygon. Then have an event that will only call in one half to build the dungeon, and another code that spawns the other half of the room onto the first half if it is recognised in the layout using a for each command.

    Hope that makes sense.
