  • Indeed, cocoonjs seems to be the best hope for getting our games on mobile devices.

However, I still have my doubts. I will need to see some properly tested performance graphs before I believe that complex games like mine will run OK on these devices.

I would, of course, be delighted to be proven wrong.

  • Holy Moley! That is fantastic. Make an fps with C2 now!

  • It is important to understand the difference between trigger events, and continuous events.

dt should only be used in continuous events.

  • Here is my opinion:

    1. In MOST cases, option B should be the best. A large layout with too many sprites will obviously cause lag, and there is usually no need to give each level a separate event sheet.

    2. Tiling is better if you have a background that can be tiled. If you don't, then the only option is a sprite background ;). Also think about stretching small rectangles for large areas of color with a low download.

    3. It depends on the type of obstacle. However if you think about it, you can make almost any shape with just an arrangement of stretched/angled rectangles.

    4. This is up to you and your game.

  • It all depends on how you want to do it, and how animated you want the gameplay to be...

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • A capx would be nice, could you also be a bit more specific?

  • Please be more specific. The manual covers families (I think), what more do you need to know?

  • You should probably approach the plugin developer, as this is a third party plugin which not everyone here has.

  • For what you are after, there is nothing wrong with setting up your own platformer movement with physics. It will surely help you in the long run, even though it will take a little longer to set up.

In regards to 'how', just apply a force at angle when your left/right keys are down, and the x velocity is below the top-speed. Apply an impulse upwards on your jump key.

That's the basics of it, feel free to ask any more questions!

  • Look into the angle() expression.

I did something similar to this in this topic.

  • This is an interesting question when applied to mobile devices, especially when you are considering directcanvas/cocoonjs.

I have to say, however, I don't know much about these things.

Glad you enjoyed my game ;)

I'm sure someone on here will know about this...

  • Not sure what 'fallout style transparency' is... Could we have an image or something?

EDIT: with 'for each ordered', you don't need that plugin. Just input the y-value for the condition, and use 'send to top'.
