  • Are these sprites? They look so smooth.

  • Now, what's next? This is what has me thinking. These government and entertainment industry rats are just full of surprises.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • To tell you the truth, anybody who hosts a file storage server in a country like the US and does piracy on the side, is a complete idiot. You are gonna get taken down in the US at least, it might take a while but you will.

Anyway, the timing for this it's certainly laughable. With the SOPA and PIPA thing going on, the timing for this it's pretty obvious. I bet they knew about this for a while and they waited on purpose. It's just how a shady gov. like the US gov. works. Fear, intimidation and control. This is how they control the masses. Pretty sad that people actually fall for the gov.'s gimmicks.

  • Nevermind it's showing now... it seems after I made a new post, it detected it. Is this normal? ( I realize it's kind of big, I will fix it now)

  • I have tried to make a signature linking to my site, but no luck. I used BB code and also tried just plain text, not even that shows up. o. O

    What's going on? :(

  • Just to make it clear: we're not going to add scripting in the forseeable future. The whole reason Construct 2 exists is to save you from programming. So adding it goes against our whole reason we made Construct 2 in the first place!

Ashley: Really, nothing to stress about. C2's purpose isn't to be another clone of a failed game design tool, as far as I can tell. And even if scripting is added over time, it shouldn't be in anyway more powerful than eventing, this would definitely ruin C2 and its purpose. This is the main reason why I cannot see any real usefulness of typing code into C2, other than not making people that come from a traditional programming background have to learn C2s way, but hey, almost every other tool out there literally sticks code up yers without mercy, so I really wouldn't care for it much, it's not reason enough. Like 90% of the other game making tools out there made me and others do, LEARN IT. That's what all the pro programmers very cockily tell the people who do not know any language. Little difference though: C2's learning curve cannot compare to the super time consuming learning curve of traditional methods, anybody literally, with a little time int heir hands can adapt to C2's way of doing things. If you for some reason want traditional coding, there's plenty of other tools, honestly.

I believe a lot of tools are gonna learn from C2 in the future. a lot of people are shying away from traditional programming when it comes to games, it's just not practical. After all, even the big companies have their "Software" team, which make the tools for making the actual game.

  • Why not use GM then? You can script there to yer heart's content.

    Not everybody speaks English.

  • This is a great project. I speak two languages fluidly English and Spanish. I can help with the Spanish site.

  • Yo hablo Espanol tambien y puedo ayudar a traducir cosas!

  • Well, you guys work like yer company was big. I always say, the more the merrier it's such a lie. I really believe the more people you get into something, the slower it will run, lots of unnecessary disagreements, you gotta be on people's asses for them to finish something on time, etc.. You have to be very careful who you hire and let in yer circle.

  • I am so happy C2 isn't a an scripting program. This is what I hated about every other editor (well with the exeption of CC and MMF). IN GM for example, to make good games you must learn their scripting system and it's such a bother for people that do not have time and just want to bring an idea to life fast, not spend hours learning some stupid language. I always found it so annoying. C2 is by far the best event driven system I have seen. C2 is there to put ideas quickly into motion and nothing can beat that when all you want is just make a damn game. >__>

Those 3 seconds you save in traditional programming replacing code, it's countered by how long it takes you to put a functional game together.

Traditional programming should stay for developing applications and such. For making games, tools like C2 are, in my opinion the future.
