  • The key behind any succesful project is the planning, when you cover all on the paper you are safe to mistake fewer than a not planned project. I actually working on a massive RTS game and believe me, its took me 2 years planning a way to develop it and still sometimes i mistakes. Focus on your main idea and then cut it to smaller pieces thats keeps a track of every thing you are doing, finally merge all together and �tada! you have a playable looking-good and efficient game...

  • I'd noticed an VRAM issue for big maps, my case layout about 5000x5000 pxl i'm using a canvas of internal image about 512*512 pxl, then resized in the editor to the size of layout, the VRAM usage is about 112 MB that is too much for me, i'm working to improve the FOW implementation, coming soon i'll publish a new method.

  • Hmm interesting! i check it too... well i said a separated plugin for circle because exist a VRAM issue with the canvas Object, when it too big spend VRAM dropping FPS rate, idea is using circle plugin i.e. for a range marker in the LOS behavior or Turret behavior when you selects a unit using 'em, and some times range is about 1000x1000 pixel, so many canvas of that size hurts FPS, but stills i'll check canvas code if possible add circle drawing there!

  • Hi! recently i took a look over SDK because i need some Plugin what leaks on CC, is about creating a PLUGIN like Box but instead drawing a box this must draw a circle. My troubles starts when i try to find some DX9 functionality what helps to achive this, if some one had worked before over a plugin, please i need some help there.

    help is about what is the list of functions used by contruct, essentially that, any other help still is welcome.

    Circle plugin is needed for many reasons, and i think many other people will like it...

  • Hi my friends, here is my second tutorial.

    This time is about a nice title menu, its based upon a strategy game menu, but with some fixing you may adapt to any kind of game.

    Topic title says 'nice' because its have a 'nice animation effect' just try it and you see. I hope this be useful...

  • Hi this is my very fisrt tutorial, I espect be useful.

    The first step for your F.O.W. I'd created a new layer, in the top of other layers and under GUI layer if you have it. Just like image below

    (SEE FOW_01.png) in gallery.

    Set the layer properties like this, for FOW color change the filter color to your choice.

    (SEE FOW_02.png) in gallery.

    Then create a Canvas Object and make it the size of layout of map, and setup its properties like this. Don't forget to clear canvas.

    Afterwards, will create an Sprite object for FOW eraser just like that. The Shape of eraser is of your choice, i set it as circle.

    Finally for test our FOW, i use MouseKeyboard Object to move and paste the FOWeraser into the Canvas FOW. The combination of Eraser Effect of Canvas with no trasnparency of FOW Layer will create the FOW FX, letting us to see the layer under FOW layer.

    I doing it every 1000 to have a little delay in FOW FX.

  • ok thanks! well i'm asking because for my RTS i need all resources of machine an thats numbers you said, puts me on alert, i was testing the RTS and FPS drops when sprite count growings up, so render issue must be fixed...

  • Hi i'm working in RTS project, and i have some ideas how to achieve a stronger AI, still is on paper but coming soon i start to make it on CC, well i'm making my project so it be a auto explained Tutorial, AI is included, i espect may help you coming soon...

    I'll like share information and know what other developers are doing so count on me, good luck with projects...
