  • Wohow! Just got feature on Newgrounds at the frontpage!

  • Hiii. If you haven't heard already - the game I was working on, past couple of weeks is finaly finished and published. So far over 4500 people played it. Maybe you can be the 4501? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

I've also managed to achieve something like this:

If you would like to give it a try, you can play the game on:

    Newgrounds: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/654784

    Gamejolt: http://gamejolt.com/games/adventure/antumbra/53791/

    Kongregate: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Irbis/antumbra

    Itch.io: http://dronelocker.itch.io/antumbra

    Whichever you prefer.

If you enjoy what you see, please follow me at facebook, twitter, YouTube and IndieDB. Where I post updates.

    Best Regards!

  • I know its kind of a necroposting but the thing have not changed.

Newgrounds is tops Kongregate in all areas. Yet it is Kongregate which has an official C2 intergration.

I wish Dev team could finaly make an official Newgrounds API plugin.

  • Hiiii! is the plugin up to date?

  • The game is almost done. All GFX are in place. All SFX and ambient added. Coding done. Just need to some final polish and bugfixing and i am done. Also, i finaly have a logo

  • I remember the days of playing Zork games. Looks nice, grim and creepy.

Actually Zork Nemezis and ZM: Grand Inquisition were one of the strongest inspiration.

Hi5 mate! Not many people remember those.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hi guys. A week or less ago i started working on this oddball. To not just copy/paste the info - have a read here:

    https://www.facebook.com/DroneLockerOfficial

    Some screenshots:

The game is a very weird/crazy blend of different adventure game styles. You have some point'n'click, some quick time events, some arcade elements, a lot of horror and reflex based events, puzzles and riddles. All made in a very disturbing and surreal setting. I took inspiration from classic like Darkseed, Zork Nemesis or Dreams to Reality. With a strong grim and insane coating.

I am not making this with money in mind. It's more of a hobby project. Something to keep me sane, in this dark times. The game is hard. Damn hard. And it won't get any easier ever. So I imagine most of people will never finish it.

Funny fact - the whole idea for the game came from a funny situation. A friend of my who is a very talented but rookie graphic artist, was thinking about a game that would showcast her skills and talents. So I suggested Graphical Novel. She didn't knew this genre and I had a hard time finding a proper example around the web. So I made a prototype of such game myself to show here how it looks and smells.

Few days later I've found myself still working on the thing and I grow attached to my creation.

And here I am here, still developing this piece of madness. I have no plan, not script. I make stuff on the way, I let them come to me naturally. I just swim with the current, curious where it'll lead me. To be honest, when the game does hints some sort of story - even I don't know how it will all end. Its also the first time I develop an adventure game and I must say it's quite pleasant. Most of the time I design some sort of RPGs or games with RPG elements, which from the name tend to be complex. This kind of adventure game feels so simple in comparison. A breath of fresh air.

I don't know how long it'll take me to finish this thing. Probably a week from now, maybe two.

    Kudos.

The "load from url" action is not instant so you can't paste right away. You either would have to do it after a wait or under TiledBg's "on image url loaded" condition.

Ahhh terribly sorry for that Rojo. I rarely use gfx loading from outside so i keep forgeting.

    All works perfectly now.

    I have a problem.

I use TiledBG. I load the gfx to TiledBG from loose project files, then i try to paste updated TiledBG into Paster and it pasts not the updated image (gotten from "load from URL" action) but the original before the load/update.

Same thing happends when i try to use your Canvas plugin instead of paster.

And the whole reason behind this is trying to find a workaround of this:

I don't understand. Can you explain it bluntly WHY this request cannot be fulfiled? Oh and please don't argue that We don't need it - because this sounds like Microsoft.

If there are some heavy technical difficulties to implement this - okey. But if its just a matter of "you don't think its needed" then not okey. I might be getting the wrong impresion, and don't feel offended if so - but it sounds like you are giving excuses instead of explanation.

Because i have a similiar issue - i have shit load of GFX assets which i use to generate content and past it into Paster and then never to see it again. And my paster, when the content generation is done, is 5mg. and my content is about 200 mb.

The way it works in my case:

    1. Spawn object A

    2. Paste Object A into Paster

    3. Delete Object A

    4. Spawn Object B

    5. Paste Object B into paster

    6. Destroy Object B

And so on, rise and repeat. So at any given moment i never have more then 20mb VRAM in use. At least i should be. Because the freaking textures are stuck in VRAM long after i discared them and the player won't see them again. And i have no means, that i am aware of, of getting rid of this garbage textures sitting in VRAM.

So whats the problem? And why the heck out of 10 requests - 6 always needs to end up as arguing. Sure if there are technical obstacles - in such case i can relate and understand. But in many cases i keep hearing "No because you dont need it/We think its pointless" => thread closed.

Sorry if the "tone" of this post sounds a bit raging.

    EDIT:

Lol, when googling i've found this

And i was like YAY, and then i noticed the forum path...

"Board index ‹ Construct Classic ‹ Construct Classic Discussion ‹ Help & Support using Construct Classic"

So apparently even CC had that.

  • This issue is really wourth the attention. I am aware of 3rd party plugin that does this, but this should be a natural part of C2 - not a plugin.

    So bump

  • the only way as of now of doing this is storing real world time when the app losses focus and then comparing the time when it regains it.
