It's pretty simple and it should be easy to continue from there. I hope somebody finds it useful with their projects.

Could you create one level, and over that another using layers and then showing only the required layers from each side.

Dafont is ok, but they have lot of "free" font's that aren't actually free for commercial use or have other hidden fees. I prefer fontsquirrel because you can see the licence right away, and they tell you if they don't know how it is with the current licence.

It actually seems that there's a one pixel vertical shift. Easiest to see if one tiled background block is flipped 180-degrees and set against the other.

To me it seems that you just have poorly cropped images. I can see some thin black lines on your tiles when zoomed closer in image editor.

I think I have enough RAM on my computer, but more wouldn't be bad.

It really did help to close those tabs and only keep some of them open. I had never really paid any attention on those tabs because I always navigate via Projects window. I had also reported another "bug" about layouts getting empty. I think it was probably because of my 110 tabs open at the same time.
