  • Hello - I have attached capx file for viewing... if you go through the game level hit the spikes and then die and get game over screen - why when you click try again the game dont run right??

What do mean by 'don't run right'?

You need to explain more clearly what you think the error is, rather than expecting others to trawl through code, they may have trouble understanding, looking for a bug.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I'm using latest Firefox and I'm not seeing any jittering at all.

  • As is often stated, the physics behavior is not designed to work with the other behaviors.

If you think about it, the physics behavior is an attempt to recreate real-world physical interaction - the platform behavior is not. Therefore unusual things are likely to happen if you try to mix them.

Either dump physics (easier option), or dump platform and use impulses/forces to move - it will save you time in the long run.

  • As Ashley always states, a .capx is ALWAYS required, or the post has a high chance of being closed automatically.

  • Unless you follow the bug reporting guidelines, then this will likely be closed, as there is no way anyone can reproduce the error - and therefore fix it - without an example .capx and steps to reproduce.

  • This is just an executable, and I for one am not running an unknown .exe.

Maybe best if you produce screenshots and post them.

It would also help if you said how much experience you have of using C2. Have you already tried to reproduce this game?

If so, how far have you got?

If you haven't even made an attempt, why not?

    ** EDIT **

Actually, this is an old game written using Construct Classic. Have you tried contacting the person for the original .cap?

  • Most people are more than willing to offer assistance, but this almost appears to be a request for the full game mechanic, which is a big ask.

Have you looked at any tutorials? Specifically those around the Match 3 mechanic?

I'm not sure if this is what you require, but maybe this tutorial will get you going: http://gamedevelopment.tutsplus.com/tutorials/make-a-match-3-game-in-construct-2-the-basics--gamedev-8071

  • Are you using any non-standard plugins?

If not, can you re-create in a small .capx that we can test also?

If it bugs out for us, then it would confirm the bug, and you could then post it in the Bugs section for Ashley to investigate.

  • Why have you created another identical thread as your last one?

IMO, you should really be the one putting in the research to determine which is the best platform for you.

If you are relying on other peoples - subjective - opinion then you are already going down the wrong path.

  • Just drag and dropping the .c2addon onto the Layout should work, but if not, you can always unzip the .c2addon using 7zip or whatever extraction program you have to hand, drill into the files folder, then drag the plugin/behavior out manually.

This is then placed in the exporters folder, in the plugins or behavior folder as needed. For R0j0's Paster, this is the plugins folder.

  • This is asked a lot - a quick search will give you the answer:

Due to some breaking changes in the latest C2 bulds from r187 onwards, the Arcade will only accept games exported from r186.2: https://www.scirra.com/construct2/releases/r187 (the release notes say 168.2 but this is a mis-type).

  • Probably best to email and see what Ashley and Tom say.
