  • I have spin and power, but how do I add inertia so the ship keeps coasting in the direction of power.

I do not want it to travel in the direction of the mouse, but in the direction of its facing, and coast to a stop.

    Any help?

    Thanks

  • I am doing a similar game Making a Panel Object visible with a picture and text box Object on it. Mine is much simpler so all my test is embedded in to the program.

If you really want to read it form a file the simpler way might be to pre-format it onto files and then read thew one you need with an INI Object.

Unless you have so much text that it bogs down your program I suggest you put it all in the game. This way no one can pre read it.

  • Great Idea.

And then by adding a few images to an amiamtion you and make the glow pulse!

    Sometimes simple is better LOL

    Thank you!

  • I need a thin arched glow coming from the back of a space ship like the engine of the millennium falcon.

I want it to only glow when I use move. I have played with particles but just can't get what I want. Any suggestions, examples?

  • Congrats Linkman!

    You will be great here.

..but this will not stop you from making amazing plugin's will it?

  • Also the specs for your monitor may give the preferred resolutions. When I got mine from NewEgg.com they showed the preferred resolutions in the specializations.

Then you're doing it wrong *shrugs*.

    Lost my Keys

No I am not. LOL Particle Illusions is a 2d application it is just pixels that have behaviors and are not affect like the topic suggests.

But other posted examples prove me wrong Especially the Cinema 4D. WOW what a great new feature. I may have to try and get my boss slip that in to the budget. I always wanted to try Cinema 4D.

    Bows graciously to all

  • VERY fun! Nicely done Bartosh

  • Opps Double Post LOL

Not the versions of Maya or Max that I have. Partials just spew out. if you add gravity they fall with the head still facing up. And from a lonnng time ago at least old lightwave did not either. Particles do not normally rotate with gravity.

    Post an example please

.. just did 3 quick tests with particle illusions and not one did. But that program is a special case. It is just 2d glitz.

  • Sorry, I must disagree here. I worked as a Visual Effects Artist and 90% of my time with particles and it is quite common to have the behavior descriped by Somebody. For example if you want to have sparks flying away in every direction.

But every which way is not what he requested. Can you please sight an example of a non-custom application that "emits" partials with gravity physics and has facing direction toward the flight path?

    @lucid Nice!
