  • Hi Tom and everybody else,

I can't access my seller account. It always ends with a timeout from the server side. Since I have to give consent to some changes regarding EU regulations, this is really not good

I hereby give consent, just in case, the issues aren't solved until 25 May...

  • Oh, sorry if I confused things! I was intrigued by this part of the blog post:

"The webkitAudioContext element was introduced to HTML a while back, and is now available in the standard as AudioContext. The API is fairly flexible, and one of the things you can do with it is get a Javascript callback which writes samples more or less directly to the output device, just like we used to do with DMA loop interrupts back in the day. It’s called createScriptProcessor." I just read HTML standard. So "createScriptProcessor" is already part of WebAudio? Sorry then. Damn, And it looked so easy to implement...

  • Although I do know a lot about it, and once programmed my own tracker software back in the days on an Atari ST (which never got any attention though), the linked blog is not by me. It is by Andy Sloane.

I have zero skills in javascript, so I looked for something that could help the op. That's all

  • Does this help you with your goal? https://www.a1k0n.net/2015/11/09/javasc ... layer.html

  • If so, then don't hesitate! I just published a new song on my EDM channel on YouTube (and this time it did not take another year <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="" title="Mr. Green"> )

Oh, and in case you're not aware of it, you can also find me in the store

  • Haha! Paranoia here I come!

You do know that you are the first viewer of your own post, don't you?

  • I really wanna make a game clashing all my favourite 8 bit platforming games and it would save me a bunch of time just using sprite sheets on the internet for the game, am I allowed to do this? If so, do I have boundaries on what I can do with my game etc.?

The question is easy to answer: No, you are not allowed to do this. The use of other peoples property always requires a written consent, and only those people can grant you rights like using them for commercial use.

In almost all cases you will have to pay for a licensed use.

You can, however, wait until something falls into public domain. It is hard to tell, when exactly this happens, but as a rule of thumb the life of the original author plus 70 years. I'm afraid this is more of interest for the next, or next next, generation of game designers

  • What is a blockbuster in this context? With indies/smallest developer groups we won't ever see triple a titles. For me, it is already a huge success that so many games made it onto Steam! It would be interesting to see, where C2 stands compared to other game maker software regarding Steam publishing.

  • ...for such a long time here on the forums, I post this. I hope you allow for this little "laudation", even if you never heard their forum names.

I just found this review by indiegamehunt of a game of which existence I also know for years now. TowerClimb by Davio and Quazi:

    http://fireside.gamejolt.com/post/towerclimb-7jac79nw

It's a review each game developer would (and should) be proud of.

And of course, it's also on his list of (let me quote himself) "Favorite (Yeah, Pretty Much the Best) Indie Games of 2015":

That was a very long pregnancy, guys! I hope your baby will prove worth it

There is no legal way to steal other people's work.

  • Even if you get no answers, people will always prefer frame skip (even if they don't know what it means). The impression of something moving at the same speed, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel is always better than fox, turtle, squirrel, turtle, turtle, squirrel

(But I'm still not sure how serious you are )

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • It's quite pleasing to see that you are all so relaxed. With all the money and manpower they have, I was afraid Scirra couldn't stand. But it seems to be more of another tool for asset/animation creation, and not so much for game creation, if I understand you right.

In my mind I was thinking somewhat in the lines of "Hey, all the flash game developers can now keep using their environment but simply output to html5 instead of flash"
