  • Wow!!!

    It's..... wow!!!!!!

beautiful AND fun. Yeah, I'd say frontpage it

truly the most polished game done (finished!) with Construct so far.

Edit: game is evil. Damn those pillars!

Edit2: Finished it. Loved it. The scenery "feigns" were a touch of genius. I lucked out there (or maybe I'm just awesome). Loved the ending too.

4 things, neither of them really important:

-Ending could have used a simple and calmed tune and... some rolling credits!

-At the intro screen you can press jump and ornaments and snowman head will jump! FIRST CONSTRUCT EASTER EGG CONFIRMED??? (you can also jump after you've run out of lives)

-A bit of width wobble to the tree when it hits the snow in the intro would be just perfect.

-The ATV seems to be 3D rendered. Motion-blurring the wheels would make it look awesome, also wheels could be spinning while in midair and instead of silence, have brief engine roar and *then* silence.

And now for a question! how did you handle collisions? they work perfectly!

  • Be wary if comparing animation frames: if your game begins to run too slow, an animation frame might be skipped and thus the condition will fail to occur.

You might want to calculate below what framerate this happens and set it as a minimum required framerate for your game (there's a setting for that)

  • and therefore not available when the internet goes kaput.

It's true. We should all be prepared for Z-day.

  • how about when they're not naked?

  • The thing that i am trying to do is like a "woke up in a room" game.

Wow I'm working on something that will make doing that kind of game a breeze.... but it ain't ready yet

i'll probably share here when I finish it.

  • Loving that shadow

  • there's an attribute called "Destroy at startup"

Ugh I always forget about attributes. Yeah, what he said >_<

  • It's very much known, but I'm unsure if it's already in the tracker.

Search for it and if you don't see it, put it in there.

  • Does one have to copy the python libraries along with the .exe for end-users?

  • Good thing the forums are very newb friendly.

    QFT!!

as for deactivating objects, you have to destroy them "on layout start".

Destroying the ones out of layout is a good idea, but sadly in Construct you can't just refer to all objects at the same time unless you stuff them in a family.

SO, what you'd do is stuff every single object in your game in a family (say, Blue) and then do

    + System: Start of layout

    + Blue: Is outside layout

    -> Blue: Destroy

A default family would be nice, methinks. Anyways, that works, or you can just go object by object destroying them on layout start.

  • since with construct you can press alt-crop in the image editor to crop all the frames in an animation

    O_O holy crap
