Kind of reminds me of an old arcade game in the 80s. You had to protect a character from dangers that waited by shooting them.

You got a release date for this yet? (soz if I missed that post.. just browsing.. ;) )

Create a layer.

Draw the shape that you want to be a mask.

Create another new layer above that one.

Then hold ALT while moving the mouse pointer BETWEEN the 2 layers and you'll see the icon change.

Click LMB.

Now whatever you draw on the newest layer, it'll be restricted to the shape of the one below.

OR...

Create a new layer.

Where you clicked the new layer icon on the layers palette / window, you'll see an icon that looks like a rectangle with a circle in the centre.

Click that while on the new layer.

This adds a layer mask to that layer.

Now, make sure the layer mask is selected for the layer.

Select BLACK colour to draw and hide parts of the layer.

WHITE colour shows parts of the layer.

anthonykojima, thanks! Glad you liked my version. Feel free to use it for a sequel (hint hint) if it's any easier for you.

I may add AJAX / XML loading to it now that I'm comfortable using those. Let me know if that's something that would interest anyone. I tend to be more motivated to do stuff for other people than I do for myself ;p

nothaseo, sorry man. Been away. I can't seem to find the fixed version. I remember it was something simple and stupid ;p I'll try and get round to fixing it shortly when I have my coding head on!
