  • I still think doing my way would save you a lot of hastle:

    1. you can draw the way you can and the way you like

    2. after track bitmap function you can do fixes

I think that vector gfx in PS is not to good and it's hard to came up with a decent shape strait away.

  • One of my favorites. Besides i do like Kubrick a lot. Onether of his films is ' Dr. Strangelove - How i stoped to worrie and loved the bomb' . Awsome film with Peter Sellers doing 3 roles. But you have to know the history of world war 2, and nazi ideas for the future to understand and enjoy the film.

  • Mipey: did you run the full installer with the VC 2005 redist install?

Microsoft describes the August 2008 update as an "optional update" to DirectX 9, which makes things frustratingly complicated. DX11 does not mean you have optional updates for previous versions of DirectX. I was hoping they'd start fully including all the components... they might throw it in the final release... but argh, the headaches this has caused us. Stupid redistribution!

Ah, lucky number 7, right ash? XD

I'm glad i did not have to go through vista crap, and sticked with xp. My girlfriend got it and it's realy slow and acward. I'll wait till 7 final relise and get myself new pc or laptop with it.

  • Hi all,

I recently (kind of) finished an enemy for a game i'm working on. All worked well and good until i added another one to the layout for testing. Now all enemies seem to react to events that are only supposed to affect one of them.

At first i thought the problem was in the comparing of X position relative to the main character sprite, but i think i fixed that and the problem remains.

What is supposed to happen is that when MC comes close to a spider, the spider will move towards the MC and bungee down when the MC is directly below it. If the MC is far away, the spider should return to its original X position. This works when there's only one spider.

I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what i'm doing wrong and how to fix it.

That's quite common. I don't remeber but i think you have to put them all in to one family and then in the events call that family insted of one object. Or you can try addin 'for each' ... not sure.

  • Thanks^^ Now I got new textures for walls just need to fix aiming and insert some stuff to make game more interesting like ammo packs and health packs and ofc enemies and il try to insert whip too:D

And make dick-noses from outher space . good luck. oh dont forget about the whip.

  • Well like maybe most of the users here, I also use Photoshop to create sprites and other graphical materials for the game though I consider myself to be still a newbie.

So I;ve got a question concerning making the sprites. I am trying to make the sprite look smooth(vector-like) however i see a problem that might arise from the anti aliasing of the outside line of the sprite and I know that in COnstruct I might get same weird whith gray surrounding the sprite.

So what's the most efficient way of doing this? I could use hard line in PS and maybe use the smooth plugin(but how would that affect the game's performance if I would have sprites moving around with all the construct effect applied to them.)

I could also think of making the sprite size in PS twice the size i itend it to be then put it on consturct then just decrease the sprite object with that sprite texture. I believe it smoothens it but still I'm not sure how it is compared to the effect plugin performance-wise.

Hmm, what do you guys think?

I'm not sure wheter i got your question right. But if i did i would first drow the outlines of the sprite in the size you want to display it in game or bigger, than i would export it as JPG (or bmp, whatever), import to Inkscape, used TRACK BITMAP feature, corect the new created vector gfx if nessecery, set the size you want it to be in your game, export is as png, import to PS, and coloured it. You will get perfectly smooth looking spite. If you want it to be perfectly coloured as well, you could fill it with colours within Inkscape. Thats the fastest and best way i can think of.

  • Nice one

I might have to give this one a go myself

Moved to tools and resources section.

So, what do you think about it?

  • Yeah, i know this site.

  • Broo told me about Cons about year ago. I think it was still in 0.4.9 version and i found out that was horrible back then XD But now it's way better obviuesly

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Nice. Is it a picture of men with a penis-nose on the walls?

  • I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet, but you should use a CMS. I use Drupal, so I recommend it over Joomla, but Wordpress might offer a simpler option for your needs. Drupal is a little more complicated and requires a lot of work to look good. Drupal's better for large community sites.

If you wish to keep things simple, I guess you could stick with what you have now, though. The content is more important than the site's appearance.

no CMS. only static site dev team wants.
