    I've never tried putting the function in the sub-event under the else but I wonder what would happen then.

  • I'm more interested in his music tool Masagi. I made a useable baseline within 5 minutes of using it. I like how intuitive it is - like when you just slide the piano notes to make them longer and place a dot for a note in space on a "graph". Too bad he seems to have made it on a whim and looks like he isn't going to develop it further. I'm sick of Buzz crashing on me out of the blue when I was on a roll producing nice tracks and loops every day. Reinstalling didn't help at all. Good thing I saved all my presets until I figure out what's going on.

    As for the sculpting tool, it looks like it will be great when textures support is added. If its as intuitive as Masagi then I suspect It'd be grade A.

  • I use naming conventions all the time and works perfectly. It makes eventing easy - just have to get use to strings, tokens and converting values.

  • Maybe when I'm finished with my games I'll write up an example cap showing the basics.

  • You need to use a naming convention to organize your global variables so you can do something like set global variable Gvariable&str(random(10)+1) to random(1). All your global variables you want to be included should of course have the same beginning then you use a number to tell them apart (eg. v1, v2, v3 etc). Remember to right click on set global variable prompt and choose "use expression" so that you can set the variable to an expression. When you start using naming conventions more, you may want to start looking into the text manipulator so that you can use the useful "replace" action. I'm sorry I can't post an example cap for you.

  • Looks like you might be using globals when you want to use private conditions and variables, but it'simpossible to tell without a cap.

  • Also, a vast majority of people who use gamepad right now, actually do use a 360 gamepad. A windows specific version was even released by Microsoft.

    o. They use whatever cheap version they find at the computer shop or their old gamepad from 5 years ago. Well actually both Playstation and Xbox styles are pretty popular. Anyway, I was merely pointing out that gamepads are very important to some gamers, some are adamant on using arcade style gamepad with the big buttons even. I never said I think it should be a high priority; however, I think that's entirely up to the game created and its audience because some will definitely tell you it is.

    Since people can buy the 360 controller its not really big issue to me, but that's weird to force people to use that specific control and many will whine and probably give your game a 0 rating for it.

  • lestar. I don't think anyway here is disputing that. But there is a difference from letting the certainty of death come to you naturally and openly waving a weapon at police or jumping off a bridge.

    Besides there's never been a case where someone stole graphics, and didn't get successfully sued.

    idn't someone in this very forum get their game "reused" and had someone make a profit off it?

    I just remembered I made a user custom map creator that uses 999 frames as placeholders for the user to load their own sprites, adjust them at runtime, and it was made to let them set the neccessary values for 3D collision for 2.5 so that it worked in game. I didn't plan for VRAM issues at all with this, but it works in like 1-2 simple events with loopindex and simple image manipulator events.
